"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time
-- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!
That is a good one!!!
I sure don't think as much of Bill Kristol as I did half a year ago.
Fred is a lot better, but when he is on the Beltway Boys, he says more controversial things than when he's on Special Report.
I do wonder if the conservatives in DC aren't at least a little vulnerable to liking and respecting their conservative colleagues, even when someone from the outside might be able to point out that there are more emotions here. We can agree to disagree but I think Kristol cast himself into the same bin as Frum and Will.
BTW Frum and Will appear to be alienating the R base.
I saw that... hillarious.
IS there a growing agreement that we have a Miers nomination because we have spineless senators and that the dems will ruthlessly shred anyone he puts up?
I'd forgotten about that! You're right, how can the guy who laments the end of conservatism uphold the leader of the 7 dwarfs?
Even McCain and Spectre already stated they would shoot down a JRB type nominee!
Um....I am not sure, but you could be right with your assessment.
The Miers Conspiracies
Questions: Is the Conservative opposition to Harriet Miers nothing but a trap? See Link.
We know that Miers donated money to the DNC and other Democratic politicians in the 1980's and then went on to donate money to Republican causes in the early 1990's and on, not long after she was introduced to George W. Bush.
Did Harriet Miers have a premonition back then already, that she would be nominated as supreme court justice one day and would need to woo both the left and the right?
We also know that she's been a member of a Conservative Evangelical church for over 25 years, indicating a tilt to the right. Or was that also merely a mask job to be used as a Conservative resume?
What about the name Miers? So strikingly similar to the name of Richard Myers, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs Of Staff. Is Miers her real name? Or is it an alias name, and simply a shrewd and conniving way of finding favor with Richard Myers' all powerful pal, Donald Rumsfeld?
Harriet. Is that her real name too? Sounds so similar to Senator Harry Reid's name. Coincidence? Or a clever way of getting on the Senate Democratic leader's good side?
Coincidentally, she was a lawyer too. What better way is there to wiggle your way into the Supreme Court than by passing the bar and becoming a lawyer?
These puzzling and mind boggling questions will hopefully be answered in the coming days. Keep your PC'S tuned to the mesmerizing and crazy world of "Blogosphere" where your questions are another blogger's conspiracy theories and your answers another blogger's skepticism.

A word from Political Humor.
Yes, and all the Repubs do is sit and whine and whimper like a bunch of scared little WEENIE DOGS!!!!! I'd vote for anyone who got some! Well, maybe I did---John Cornyn has stood up!
Why would any respectful dissenter keep away from Tony's show?
When I last heard Joan, she was more upset than he and she wouldn't let him defend himself.
I am sure that she means well, but if you disagree with someone you like, it helps if you give that person the benefit of the doubt.
I don't consider it a "conservative movement". To me, it's a way of life. That's why I don't think we are in danger of losing seats.

ROFL! Sounds as good as anything I have heard so far! And a lot more plausable!
Oklahoma has good leadership in the Senate in Tom Coburn. He wasn't the GOPs pick, so a grassroots effort began to draft Dr. Tom, and he thrashed the GOP "good-ol boys".

Bush Failed to Ask 'What Would Kristol Do?'
by Scott Ott (2005-10-07) -- President George Bush today acknowledged that before appointing Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court he failed to ask himself the question that he habitually applies to such decisions: 'What would Kristol do?' William Kristol, the neo-conservative editor of The Weekly Standard, has led the Republican outcry against a nominee who, conservatives fear, secretly favors abortion kiosks in shopping malls, and who may view the Constitution as metaphorical poetry. The president, who wears a WWKD reminder bracelet, said, "I guess I got caught up in the moment, and tempted by the allure of appointing a justice who actually speaks in language I can understand." Upon hearing of the president's remark today, Mr. Kristol said, "Acknowledging your sin is only half of repentance, but I stand ready to graciously forgive if the president will turn and follow me." |
