Around my neighborhood the big deal this year is the overlap of Ramadan and Dwali ~ the result is the several Indo-Pak "sweet shops" (and you know what they are) are into 24/7 production of a vast array of traditional candies to a degree I don't recall.

Then, along about 4:00 PM the Pakistani Moslems set up their outdoor grills and start cooking the highly spiced meat.

Ohio pork farmers and distributors beware.

I had wondered about this a week or 2 ago. In the finance industry and also government, terms such as 'pork' are used routinely. Senators try to pad bills with pork that benefit their constituents. The futures markets list futures on pork bellies and pigs. 4-H kids raise pigs for competition at county fairs across our country. And these same kids put their pennies in a piggy bank. Will all Americans have to give up pork, talking about pork, eating pork, raising pork to satisfy the whims of the minority? Will Americans no longer 'bring home the bacon'? Will chubby people no longer be called 'porkers'? Will I, too, like my British counterparts, have to remove Piglet (a gift) from my desk?

The more we give and bend and show 'tolerance', the more changes they demand.
