"Other measures you can do now if you are concerned is to support politicians and legislation that tighten our out of control borders, especially the invasion of disease ridden illegal aliens from Mexico."
Disease ridden illegal aliens? So the 'legal' ones are not disease ridden..or do we test them when they come in legally?(the answer is no) This one sentence showed your extreme prejudice and frankly, ruined.. what would otherwise be a good 'article'. Your ignorance and prejudice is showing.Flame away...............
At least part of the answer to this one is DDT.
Great ideas----my stockpile would be peanut butter.
You are ridiculous. The bird flu is considered to be dangerous because birds carry it.
Why is that for every problem, your prescription is to kick out two illegal (preferably Mexican) aliens and then see how you are doing in the morning ?
The avian influenza problem is primarily in Asia right now - not in Mexico.
The possibility of this strain of AI spreading is not something to be laughed at - but neither is it something that should be used to promote political agendaes.
Migratory fowl is where most of the threat is from and there is not a bloody thing anyone can do about that.
like this mask?

Been watching this for a year now. Got the masks (N95 and N100) and always keep items well stocked for just this kind of thing.
Us lone crazy survivalists have to stick together dontchaknow.. :)
Good time to buy 3M stock
Sorry, I refuse to buy into the panic scenario that seems to have overtaken the media since they slowed up Katrina reports. Last year, they caused panic with the flu vaccine shortage. Then it was "old people can't the shots". Then it was "we have a surplus of vaccine because people aren't taking this seriously". It turned out the season wasn't as bad as previous ones.
I saw a physician on FOX's BOR show tonight who told the audience the key is "caution, not panic". I agree. It's like any other kind of flu...you take the usual precautions, if you get it, treat the symptoms and lay low.
Buying a mask with a respirator is a huge waste of money...LOL! Are you also recommending duct tape? COMMON SENSE is the key..NOT PANIC.
bump
As for me, I'm just gonna sneak into my brother-in-law's backyard and murder his wife's pet chickens.
Oh, and plenty of chicken soup.
So how goes the war?
The avian flu will turn out to be one of the most over-hyped threats in human history.
At the time of the SARS event, the CDC cautioned that the need to prevent stigmatization and discrimination was primary in developing screening programs, let's hope their thinking has evolved.
The outbreak, if it occurs, will begin in Asia. We will have several weeks to act, and closing the airports to inbound flights from China and SE Asia would be extremely helpful.
That's an intervention that should be on the table.
Well, no, not in the middle of your bird flu mask scam.
