As fears mount about an avian-flu pandemic, some public-health officials are expressing concern about a more immediate threat: spot shortages of flu shots to fend off the run-of-the-mill winter flu.
Since last fall, when a nationwide vaccine shortage triggered panic and led to flu-shot rationing, federal officials have been working to stabilize the nation's vaccine supply. Is the virus able to contaminate if dried and then re-hydrated?
This bird flu scare is only creating hysteria and forcing people, once again, to look to the all solving government protector to save us from the evil blight.
Additionally the bird flu scare is padding the pockets of pharmaceutical companies who will sell the vaccines that will allegedly protect us from the flu (if it even really exists). There are questions already about the long term effects such a vaccine might bring on.
Again, this bird flu is hysteria driven by much speculation and people are getting sucked into the ruse.
