First question to be answered: How much of that retirement fund is for cops who are actually on the force and how much of it is for Eddie Compass' phantoms?

You'd think an accurate actuary report would improve the NOPD retirement fund's funding status. After all, if a third of the cops don't really exist, that means more money for the real cops.

It seems there was a serious effort by the Louisiana legislature to terminate the New Orleans Police Pension Fund in 2004.

Problems must have predated the revelations of Katrina.

Since Nagin is so hot to trot to rebuild gambling casinos to pick the pockets of the citz, wonder if Nagin and cronies were dipping into the pension funds?

"Problems must have predated the revelations of Katrina."

LMAO. I'd say that's an understatement by a factor of a couple hundred years.

Once the MSM gets a hold of this story and thoroughly investigates, I'm certain we'll get to the bottom of this...

Well, now that the cops got caught stealing Caddilacs, they can't give retirees a new Caddy any longer.

Cynic? More of an optimist, actually. But enough of a realist to know that were Nagin a Republican, we'd hear no end from the MSM about the depths of his incompetence. Perhaps even enough that he'd resign in shame. But Nagin is a Democrat, so he'll continue to get a free pass.

Yup, and demand more money and tap dance around missing/dead cops on the payroll...... Hear you, Bro. Republican Mayor of NOLA? An oxymoron, perhaps.

An interesting argument for voting Republican, so that the scandals will be revealed. VOTE REPUBLICAN SO THE MSM WILL INVESTIGATE YOUR GOVERNMENT.
