Whoa, I smell a rat. Something tells me that they want us to let down our guard so they can strike somewhere else.

I have often wondered if al quada creates false alarms just to watch what we do in response.

Good, cheap way for the enemy to measure the real reaction and resulting efforts, and to gather intel.

19 agents (just like 9/11) and a Sunday date? Of course it was a hoax. I am continually amazed at how easy it is to get everyone all lathered up.

The same informant that passed a lie detector test?
Hmmmm....

A hoax is more like a prank ... this was an intelligence attack ... like a fights feign with a left before he throws a right.

Don't you know the rules?
When an "informant" says that there is going to be a terrorist attack, the MSM treats the information as conjecture because it might help Bush's poll numbers.
But when the "informant" says that it was a hoax, the information is treated as gospel because that might hurt Bush's poll numbers.
What effect either of these items may have on the American public's safety and security is irrelevant. All that matters is that everyone must hate Bush.

HSD said they had no concrete information to back up the 'threat'. But Mayor Bloomberg chose to move ahead with the increased security.
Overreaction?
I guess it depends on whether one has to ride those subways or is 1500 miles way in some place safe like... OKC (smile).

I know three or four Muslim pharmacists who deserve to have one of their nostrils sliced open for lying about a terror threat.
Oh, John McCain says we can't make an example out of them because we must only follow the military handbook of procedure about dealing with terrorsts....well, never mind then.

You mean they want us to ignore the flow of invaders from the south infiltrating our country by the thousands every week? We'd never do that. </sarcam off>
To: Chasaway
The same informant that passed a lie detector test? We all put too much faith in lie detector tests (especially the US Gov't). So we should believe this informant now that he says it is a hoax?

Surprise,surprise...NOT. I firmly believe that most terror alerts are CYA exercises, with the CYA emphasised much more than real concern for public safety and the WOT.
