What makes you think Miers will be a good, constitutionalist justice?

I am not trying to be sarcastic. I am really, really concerned and I'd honestly like to know how you can be so confident.

All I've heard is: 1) I trust Bush.
Seriously, I don't. Bush HAS played politics with nominatins to the bench - look at the first term appointments of Robert Gregory and Barrington Parker. Also, Gonzalez voted against parental notification after Bush nominated him to the Texas Supreme Court. Bush rewarded him by making him Attorney General.

2) She goes to an evangelical church
Anthony was supposed to be a good Catholic - look how that turned out. Laura Bush is also a conservative Christian of Miers ilk. She does not support overturning Roe - she is no originalist!

3) She led the fight to change the ABA's policy on abortion. - Which tells me practically nothing about her judicial philosophy.

4) She was associated with Exodus ministries, a Christian ministry to reform homosexuals. - Still tells me nothing about judicial philosophy. Moreoever, it wasn't THAT Exodus ministries she worked with - she worked with a different one that helped ex-cons.

5) Dr. Dobson likes her - But now he is clearly fudging on this.

Please give me some comfort here because I'm worried. I don't think she'll be withdrawn or rejected either. Tell me why this is going to be good.

Did she advise the President to sign Campaign Finance Reform?

If so I don't want her on the bench. She doesn't know to protect the basic freedom of political speech.
