Of course there won't be a vote on Bush in 2008 but the tea leaves look rather ugly for the republicans in 2006. I will speculate that republicans will lose the senate which, at the current margin, won't require a huge turnover.

It won't make a huge difference in terms of vote outcome but the loss of committee chairs will be difficult.

I might also add that weakness emboldens moderate dims from red states.
