I don't have a pilots license. I do have some hours in a 150 and an hour in a Bonanza. Years ago a friend of mine had an instructors ticket and owned a 150 and a Bonanza. Every time we went somewhere and once we got up he would give me the directions I would do the flying to get us there. He told me once he would help me get my ticket all I would have to pay for is the gas. I was going to do it,but when I found out what everything was going to cost after I got it I just couldn't justify it.:(

re: I don't have a pilots license
Well, I can tell you how to simulate the experience and come out way ahead financially.
Every time you think you would have the urge to fly, if you were licensed, and current, and the weather would permit it, and your wife and family would let you go, and the rental aircraft is available, just go in the bathroom and flush a $100 bill down the toilet. You'll save yourself hours and hours of frustration and about ten grand.
Flying isn't what it used to be!
