The Today Show is the epitome of staged events and photo ops.

I saw this today also. Actually the Today Show made fun of themselves this morning by showing the footage again. They had just finished an interview with the mother of 17 kids and Al Roucker came on and Couric was standing there with him with the weather map in the background. Katie was acting like the weatherman and said she had not done that before and then they showed the video in the background of the canoe with the 2 men walking by and everyone laughed. It was pretty funny.

Send that to Rush right NOW! He would probably like that, and he's talking about the "staging" right NOW!

at least someone could ping the FReeper that wrote this whole thing for NewsBuster-- governsleastgovernsbest aka Mark Finkelstein

Watch the clip on www.newsbusters.org
She doesn't even think to change her script and goes into how hard it is to paddle a canoe in waters like this.

BUSTED! Reporters are nothing buy liars, trained to do so in "journalism" schools.

I sent Rush a link to this thread, let's see if he checks it out!

I'm glad to see the story getting play, but please note that I posted the story this morning when I originally wrote it for NewsBusters:

PS: it is so frustrating to hear Rush just this minute say he'd like to find examples of the media staging events. As others have mentioned, it would be great if someone could get the story to Ruh.

I'm the FReeper who wrote the original story at NewsBusters. If anyone would like to be added to my ping list for stories on liberal media bias, with an emphasis on the Today show, please drop me a ping or private reply.

Great screen capture! There've been several print stories but that's the first actual pic I've seen.
BTW, I lived in Minnysoooooota for five years, you betcha eh. Illinois seems balmy by comparison.

Goons - what idiots. Does anybody - besides me - think that Fox's morning trio is a waste of time. The "heh heh's" and the jocularity detract from the news - I think.
