I'm sure this will be the lead story on the CBS/NBC/ABC evening news.

Rush had the approval ratings of the last (I think it was) 8 presidents at their low point, and they were all way lower than Dubya.
It happens.

Am I blind or am I missing the demographics of the respondents on Rasmussen's site?

The approval ratings of any president are inversely proportional to the price of gasoline........

Friday October 14, 2005--Forty-seven percent (47%) of American adults approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. That matches the lowest level ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports.
"That matches the lowest level ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports". Huh? Am I missing something here?
To: RWR8189
How can this be? I've been hearing for weeks now that he was at 40%! Could the MSM be telling us something that is NOT the truth? I'm shocked, shocked, I tell you!

I calculate it roughly 39% R, 41% D, and 20% other. That is one combination that comes out to 47%

IIRC, Reagan's approval ratings were lower than Bush's are during several points in his second term -- look at how he is remembered!

Looks like they forgot to update their daily release.
Monday's number matched Rasmussen's lowest reading.

Yes. It should read "misses the highest number for the month by only 1 point". lol

Rasmussen doesn't cook their books as much as the other pollsters, so theirs have generally been higher.
I don't know whether this signifies anything or not. Bush should be bouncing back from the media's Katrina onslaught. Possibly Miers is having an effect, but that's hard to say. I suspect that most of the people who deplore the Miers nomination still would like to support Bush, and are unlikely to turn irretrievably against him before it proves to be a done deal.

It's the RINOs that are giving him the 80%. It's the Republicans that are losing confidence in him. He is spending like a liberal, and is afraid to fight for what is right.

If you check back on the rolling dates of these polls you will see that the results on a Mon or Tues are generally the lowest. Rasmussen uses a 3 day rolling average in his polls. A Mon result posted in the A.M. would include Fri-Sat-Sun while a Tues result would include Sat-Sun-Mon. Typically weekend polling favors Democrats probably because they are more often home on the weekends then are Republicans.
To: OldFriend
Ditto........polls are garbage!
Sick of the MSM making NEWS everyday with worthless results about worthless questions.
