I don't have a disagreement with the title of the thread. The "South" did not lose the Civil War. The black Southerners freed from bondage certainly did not lose. The numerous white Unionists in the South didn't lose the Civil War. The losers of the Civil War were those who wished to consider their fellow men as property to be bought and sold and used and abused at the owners' pleasure.

BTW The South did rise again-In April of 1865.
