Ok, but what about CHOCOLATE!
must be the chocolate trading association does not have enough cash to sponsor amazing howard study
Dark Chocolate contains flavonoids that are actually very good for you.
I love the fact that they have been going after coffee for decades now and still have not managed to pin any ill effects on it when drunk by normal people.
Chocolate is right up there, don't you worry. First, it raises and evens out your serotonin levels. So you eat it, sacrificially, for those around you. Second, it is rich in anti-oxidants, so that's a plus. And it smooths out life's little pebbles in the road -- bad drivers, idiot petty tyrants, etc. I believe it is a Gift from God.
Chocolate is good for you.
Chocolate is the foundation of the food pyramid.
I now start the day with several cups of coffee. Well laced with chocolate or vanilla flavored whey protein, when frothed up with a electric hand blender, it matches any coffee bar concoction. That is my morning meal as such.
For lunch I have one of the lean cuisine type gourmet frozen dinners which range from 220-320 calories, low cal fresh or frozen veggies and green salad with malt or rice vinegar. For midafternoon, a banana, whey protein, dried milk shake.
Evening, (never after 6 pm) a hefty spinach or lettuce and white meat or ham salad. I do take numerous Vitamin, mineral and Omega-3 diet supplements. I count calories like a hawk and keep them close around 1200 per day. My goal is 160 lbs, and expect to reach it within the next few months. When I get to desired weight, I will take in no more food that that required to maintain.
In ill health and medical problems, (the least of which was a four level lumbar spinal fusion) at 5'9" and age 66, I weighed 233 lbs. In just less than one year, I now weigh 170 lbs. I do weight training and fast walk several miles a week. Blood pressure when I started was 190 over 120, today it averages around 130 over 60.
When I first started, it was hard, but took it one small step at a time with total commitment. I no longer consider what I do or eat a diet, but as a permanent lifestyle change. As the stomach shrinks, it takes much less to satisfy hunger, and I have come to enjoy what I eat very much.
