Clay and his buddy Matt used to shoot the puck around the ice as members of their high school’s hockey team. Come springtime, they’d shoulder their clubs and wander out to the golf course where they’d tee-up and shoot for a hole in one.
Clay and Matt had a lot in common and liked to hang out together, even planning to double-date for their senior homecoming dance at Concordia Academy, a private Lutheran school in Roseville.
These guys were buddies. And neighbors, friends, family, classmates – even those who only met them once or twice – called them good kids who seemed to have everything going for them.
“Clay was always just such a nice guy. I’ve seen him, talked with him a million times and he’s always so nice,” said an acquaintance who asked to remain anonymous.
But last weekend all that changed when Clayton Keister and Matthew Niedere allegedly took aim, not at the net on a hockey rink or at the 18th hole at the golf course, but at Niedere’s parents in their family’s auto glass shop in Hastings.
Hours later, the 17-year-olds were arrested separately in Blaine, where Keister lives. The weapons used in the shootings were recovered in a home in Blaine.
“I just never would ever believe he could do that,” the acquaintance said Tuesday evening.
Tuesday Dakota County prosecutors alleged Matthew Jacob Niedere killed his father Peter Niedere with a .22-caliber handgun. Patricia Niedere was shot several times with a handgun but died of a single 12-guage shotgun blast to the head, allegedly fired by Keister.

Looks like some one else shoulda posted this. I thout ght it was a little more interesting than it appears to be!
It's horrifying.
But I guess maybe we are becoming desensitized. Who were those brothers in California who killed their adoptive parents for their money? Hernandez, was that the name?
This story makes me want to ask a lot of questions. Was the boy adopted? Had he been molested? Was he involved with the occult?
As far as reasons go, I for one do go by one's past as reasoning for crimes he or she may commit. If they commit a crime such as this, they should be ended. In these kids case, they played hockey all their life so their parents could not have been that bad. Pretty sad...

I'm not proposing that their past excuses anything. I'm just struggling to understand how anyone could do something like this.
There have been a couple of individuals I've really hated during my lifetime, but I never blew their heads off with a shotgun. And they weren't even my parents.
I not saying you were making excuses, I was more or less makin conversation. I too have wanted ill fate on some folks in my life but never even thought of this avenue of justice even with a closet full of arms...
Wasn't it the Melendez Bros? They threw themselves on the mercy of the court 'cause they were now orphans.
Menendez, that was it. As I recall, they even reloaded and shot again.

Well since the error in age reporting is more important to you then the crime these young adults committed, all I can say is, shoo fly, shoo...
On an added note, why not go hang out with Petronski...I'm sure you two would get along great...
