Sounds like she is pro-choice?

Banning the headscarf would be huge. It is important to the iron fisted control and subjegation of women in Islamofascism.

If Miss Haddad was to declare she is not a Muslim then she could, in principle, could come and work with us," a member of the school board said.

And then she could be declared an apostate and a fatwa issued for her death!

Instead of forcing them to employ her they ought to ban headscarves in all of Holland. Their choice, close the school or no more headscarves.

If they want to wear headscarves they should live in a Muslim country.

Interestingly, if this was a dispute in the US, the courts would probably side with the school. There is a fairly well developed body of law in this country that says religious schools are entitled to enforce basic tenents of their religion in their hiring and firing practices, and generally US courts will not interfere with them when they do that. The last such case I recall involved an employee fired by Brigham Young University because, even though he was a Mormon, he did not tithe to the Mormon Church.

Interesting reversal of the normal case you hear about. However, I don't know what the laws are like there, but shouldn't a private religious school be able to enforce a dress code?

"A 32-year-old Amsterdam Muslim is challenging the decision by an Islamic school not to employ her because she refuses to wear a headscarf. '

Perhaps they can compromise and let her wear a toilet paper hat instead?

As I've said elsewhere: There is no difference between forcing someone to wear something, or forcing someone NOT to wear something.

Either way, those in supposed 'authority' are going after Islamic women, instead of focussing on the true troublemakers.

Apparently this is a private school, I don't know how it works in Amsterdam but in the USA private schools can set any dress code they wish for employment. This school should have the same rights, muslim or not. I know you guys are going to think they shouldn't fire this woman but they have the right and she has the right not to work there.

Brave woman.

Refuses to be intimidated.

Imagine how many girls and women are coerced into forcibly wearing the head dress.

"If Miss Haddad was to declare she is not a Muslim then she could, in principle, could come and work with us,"

That way we can kill her, then she can come to work for us.
