There's a new fad of students -- mostly girls -- wearing pajama bottoms to school, and so far administrators are not making a fuss about it.
"Some days you don't want to get dressed up for school. Like when it's raining and cold. You just want to be cozy," said Ben Lomond High School junior Elvia Escalante, 16.
School administrators in Ogden, Weber and Davis school districts say the pajamas have been modest and there hasn't been a problem.
"There are worse things a kid could wear to school," said Ross Lunceford, principal of Hillcrest Elementary School in Ogden.
"There's a fine line there, and I think sometimes we need to pick our battles. Should we get into a tussle over pajamas?" said Eileen Nicholas, student and family services teacher specialist for Ogden district.
Some students don't think much of the attire.
"They may be comfy, but it makes you look trashy and it gives you the idea you can just slack off for the day," said Ben Lomond High School senior Alena Marshall, 18.

Or, they could just make a rule that no guns are allowed.
They have PJ Day where my grandchildren go to school. Girls even wear curlers in their hair, and no makeup.
Our school had signs all over the driveways and parking lots: no guns, no tobacco, no alcohol. It was sort of creepy.
Aren't they though?! I just love sitting back and watching them reinvent the wheel all over again. They're so cute and sincere :-)
Of course, it's easier to be relaxed when you've had at least one come through to the other side and not only become a good, decent, productive human, but your best friend too!
In 1967,in my California high school, (hint, a movie was recently made about a coach there) females were only allowed to wear pants on Sadie Hawkins Day.
well, I'm sure that did the trick. Whew!
My oldest put gray hair on my head from 7th grade til the day he graduated. And even on the day he graduated he made sure he got into some trouble!! He's 25 now and the best kid (man) ever. The dumb things he did, we laugh about now! My other two were a breeze compared to him.
I kinda miss those days of the "bad boy"! lol

It's not just young girls doing this. I've seen many 20 somethings and even the odd 30 something dressed like that. Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where women were wearing bras as tops.
They brought in the dogs about every 2 weeks to sniff the cars. If they found a CIGARETTE, the kid had to go to court, pay a fine and was on probation. If they found marijuana........well, it was TX so they went straight to death row. :)
Our court made lots of money off those kids.
I realize this, my comment was really a response to the "next underwear" for school attire post.

My boss and some of our dept. heads wear sweats to work and sometimes they do look like they're in their pajamas. My boss actually wore sweats the same days we had the CPAs here doing our annual accounting audit. Maybe I'm just getting old, but there are some instances where people are just too casual.

MY oldest is still 'fessing up to a few things I never knew about, although I was on to more than she suspected. I told her to stop telling me any more or I'll lock her youngest sister in her room until she's 25!
Where ??!?!? I'm in Lynchburg!
