Insurgents Died Last Night...Plain And Simple (MSM lies about civilian causalties again)

Some of you might have read or heard about the recent airstrike on insurgents in the Ramadi area of Iraq. Of course the MSM is reporting that "civilians" died in the attack. They are not reporting that the cowards who place IEDs on the sides of roads died. They are not reporting that the aircraft saw weapons and they hardly mention that the Cobras where shot at. Yahoo has a very interesting slant and of course it is pretty much wrong with the exception of one small portion.

"The military said a group of gunmen opened fire on a Cobra attack helicopter that spotted their position. The Cobra returned fire, killing about 10. The men ran into a nearby house, where gunmen were seen unloading weapons before an F/A-18 warplane bombed the building, killing 40 insurgents, the military said."

This statement is about the only factual statement in the whole article. The area where this particular strike took place is a more rural area. It is across the river from Ramadi proper. The roads are lined with IEDs and it is a known area where foreign fighters kick the locals out of homes inorder to move in. These insurgents are also known to use real civilians as human shields during sniper attacks. IED triggermen will hide among civilian crowds prior to detonating their road side bombs. They know that we are always on the look out for triggermen and if seen we engage. Insurgents know that we are reluctant to fire into a crowd of civilians.

I did not provide terminal control of these aircraft but I know the man who did. The squadrons have emailed us the footage from the attacks. You can see the insurgents with weapons. Please trust me when I say it was a clean kill and many believe this attack might have adverted a major strike by the insurgents. These aircraft were "Cleared Hot" by men on the ground who deal with the insurgents day in and day out. The warriors on the deck and the warriors in the air worked as a team to ensure the safety of real civilians and the destruction of these terrorists.

Until the MSM shouts out and demands that terrorists end the violence after an IED explodes and kills innocent civilians, I do not want to hear that we are the bad guys ANY MORE!

Somehow leftists in the news media claim "objectivity" when they spew enemy propaganda. That's "balanced," see? That's giving both sides of the story.

It's evidently asking too much for them to report on what actually happened, rather than what some people *think* happened or would *like* to happen. And, as we all know, that doesn't fit the socialist agenda.

I'm in Ramadi. I'll be here for another eight months.

The Mooj always put this kind of crap out when we score.

And the Left laps it up like cream.

High-five's to my neighbors.

I watched the BBC version of the event and they only showed injured children in a hospital. The BBC is pathetic.

You can say that again. I would be willing to bet the kids were not even injured where this happened.

My frustration just boils over when I hear that what was reported as "fact" on the MSM is a out and out lie. I just can't understand how they can stand up in front of the camera day after day and fabricate the "news!" Especially since we all know the truth!

When can we see the video of this? Will it be released? I get a real warm fuzzy when these things come out.

Hell, the local rag labeled an AP photo of the funeral of some very good Islamofacist as "victims" of American air strikes. It keeps getting worse. The MSM is starting to make the Yellow Journalism of the 19th and early 20th century look good. At least then they were honest as to who and what they were and who supported. Today every damn one of them talks about how "fair" they are.

Stay as safe as possible Sarg. Yea, easy to say. Lord willing you and your unit shall do what must be done, and you all shall return once again to our blessed shores. Millions shall continue holding you guy up in prayer.
Incidentally, might surprise ya how many still value what an Eagle Scout used to represent. I got a Marine nephew LCpl Steve, 2nd LAR Bn just return from duty in Al Anbar (Korean Village) out of H3 airfield, and each time I see him we first greet with left handed scout handshake. He made Eagle on his 17 birthday. During the late 50 to mid 60's I was in a Sea Explore Ship, attained Assistant Scoutmaster, and Sea Explorer mate, ran our drum and bugle corps. and did one heck of a lot of camping/hiking/canoing in the PA mountains and woods and rivers, etc.. The troop my brother ran in PA still held strong to the values my bro and I knew years back. They impressed upon troop that attaining the rank of Eagle Scout was a quite honorable thing to pursue etc.. And many of their older scouts/explores stayed around and contributed as they grew up. So I assure you in some ways there are still troops/explorer posts who adhere to the traditions we older folk look back on with fine memories.
If perchance you where in the OA.............
WWW
Stay healthy.

This is dangerous. When the MSM becomes a mouthpiece for a constituency (the democratic party in particular), we lose perspective and objectivity, the two most important elements to any story. We are thus propelled into a world fueled by cynisism and paranoia. It is a matter of time the Pentagon creates a news channel to advance its agenda or to defend itself against slanted bias which in turn is very dangerous for the soldiers on the ground and policy makers trying to achieve a stated goal.

This is dangerous. When the MSM becomes a mouthpiece for a constituency (the democratic party in particular), we lose perspective and objectivity, the two most important elements to any story.
It is time and past time that we accepted the obvious. Anyone who argues from the premise of his own objectivity is arrogant.

And that includes anyone who merely insinuates that by joining a mutual-admiration society of journalists and claims that I am wrong because I disagree with a journalist. Journalists have their rules, such as "If it bleeds, it leads," and such rules have obvious utility in making a newspaper profitable. But where is it written that what makes a newspaper profitable is good for the country?

"Gasp! Horror! Blasphemy! The First Amendment says so!"

Wrong. . The First Amendment merely states that everyone equally has the right to their own opinions - and the right to speak and (within the limits of their own pocketbook) to publish those opinions. The First Amendment doesn't even mention newspapers, though it clearly does include them, and it certainly does not say that The Washington Post or The New York Times - or CBS or any of the alphabet soup - is necessary. Only that it is not right for the government to control your publishing and speech, or mine.

Procedures which make journalism profitable are not justified merely because they make journalism possible; they are justified only by the fact that the government may not, under constitutional principles, rightfully prevent them. So if a journalist justifies reporting only the casualties and not the accomplishments of the military on the basis of "If it bleeds, it leads" my answer is simply a yawn. That is the self-interest of the journalist, not my interest or the public interest.

We-the-people simply have to absorb the fact that journalism is a self-interested activity, and that no part of its behavior is more self-interested than its claim of its own objectivity.

Why Broadcast Journalism is
Unnecessary and Illegitimate

I agree however it doesn't explain why the MSM tilts to the left and call it objective journalism. One surely can tilt to the right under the same medium and achieve a greater audience given that Americans consider themselves more conservative on issues than liberal. I would hazard the reason why the MSM tilt to the left is because they have somehow taken upon themselves to be the "guardians" of the disenfranchised, voice of the voiceless and all that crap. It is elitism mascarading as social consciousness. Hell they are the offshoot of years at liberal colleges and with the supposed arrogance that their diplomas offers to presume to be arbitrators of truth, justice and the american way. They live in an echo chamber pure and simple.

Like Bernard Goldberg said; the place where you will find the least diversity is in the newsrooms of america! And that's the way it is.

cheers
