Jeff water workers allowed to stay at posts (Broussard caught in another lie)

Providing an exception to Jefferson Parish President Aaron Broussard’s unyielding stance that he evacuated all rank-and-file government workers before Hurricane Katrina to protect their lives, another top parish administrator has said he authorized 15 water department employees to man their posts during the storm. Walter Maestri, Broussard’s emergency management chief, said this week that he personally authorized the workers — nine on the West Bank and six in East Jefferson — to ride out Katrina inside water treatment plants so they could maintain potable water for thousands of patients who could not leave local hospitals because of fragile health.

His revelation, which comes amid a ground swell of criticism of Broussard’s evacuation of pump station workers, appears to expose a rift in Jefferson’s “doomsday plan,” the 7-year-old guide to managing parish resources in a Category 4 or 5 hurricane. And it could fuel the debate sparked last week over who holds ultimate authority over policy decisions in a time of crisis.

Broussard has maintained with fervor that, acting as Jefferson’s legally designated authority under an emergency declaration, he sent all public employees except 11 top directors into exile because he valued their lives over the loss of private property to flooding or other forces. Maestri, however, said Broussard knew at the time about his decision to keep water department workers at their posts and did not overrule it.

Hope he really cries as they throw his ass in jail for bad acting. Typical lying liberal. Even lies about his mama. Or someone elses if his isn't handy.

Broussard is a scummy SOB who knows darned well that he has blood on his hands relative to what occurred in his parish, on his watch. But, given that all of this ocurred in La, the land of the corruption and the scam artist, he's deluded into thinking that he can get away with this by playing that country boy, "I am humiliated" at such an claim idiocy. He must think that the rest of the country is as stupid as the blooming idiots that elect clowns such as him, the Mayor of N.O. and their utterly useless Gov.
About the only ones who think Broussard is a great leader is the dim-witted NBC jerks who allowed him to get on TV and do his nonsensical crying routine as he blamed the Feds for the loss of life in a local nursing home. That story has already been totally debunked as a flaming hoax.

Broussard has got to have a 60 IQ and/or be drenched in alcohol to carry on the way he has. He's making run of the mill, corrupt Louisiana politicians look like saints
