However, Cold War politics changed this in the 1950's. The USSR turned on Israel when it failed to become communist. At the same time communists were ifiltrating the formerly Catholic and nationalist IRA. By the 1970's Conservative Zionsts reached out ot the Unionists. Many of Loyalists and Scotch Irish Parties fully support Israel.
