Stock Market Down

Posted on 10/20/2005 10:58:55 PM PDT by Concentrate

So, what do you think? I think we need more business/ market threads around here. My intention is that Freepers NOT loose their shirts. I'll say no more than I must.

I think we need two more things around here:

1. More vanities
2. More cowbell!

I'll bring the cowbell!

The housing bubble is bursting, btw. DON'T buy a house now, if you can avoid it. You'll be able to buy the same house next year for a discount. The stock market AND gold, surprisingly, have both gone down as of late.

Say no more! Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, know what I mean? Know what I mean?!

I think we should invest in natural gas this winter.

I always argue we should be able to make money on sites like TradesSports.com on political issues, since the left is so predictable and close-minded.

"Stock Market Down."

That's much like saying, "The sun has set."

It's true, it's accurate, but it's completely meaningless without any other point of reference.

The market, like the sun, goes up and it goes down. Both directions are healthy. Both are an essential part of the natural cycle of events.

Personally, if you want me to be brutally honest, I hope the market stays down. I'd love for it to go down a bit more. Because I'm still buying. I'm investing regularly in my 401(k), and I love it when stocks are cheap. I wish more of them were even cheaper. I'm not ready to retire any time soon, so I'd like the market to stay down for a good long time, so I can load up on shares. Of course, I'm diversifying among several different asset classes, and I'm mostly sticking with solid, quality companies, and I'm firmly focused on the long-term.

Yeah, I'm greedy.

Stock market is down, oil is down, real estate is down, interest rates are up, dollar is up, gold is up, inflation is up. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

I always look forward to the end of the day when I can loosen my shirt and take off the necktie. It's relaxing. :o)

My timing was way off on the REITS.

Maybe with a FReeper market thread, I would have been advised not to buy when I did. I agree, we need more market threads!

Actually Google, and Yahoo search appear to be down right now. Not making a joke this time. Some other sites, too, while FR is working just fine.

Watch bulls and bears and the other money programs on Fox on saturday mornings. They have about 4 back to back and they are awesome. I think they start around 10 a.m. ET and run 4 shows.

I have to confess that of all issues to look at, the Stock Market is the most mystifying to me. I kind of understand it, but not very well. I mean, what is UP with that thing?

Sorry for the repeat. I'd forgot that my browser does that. What's this about Google and others being down? I'll have to check. Thanks for the info.
