The parents of two students have filed reports against the players, and police said charges could be filed Tuesday.
"It started Saturday," a mother said. "One of the star players, his name was Bill Walker, he was the first one to put hands on my son. He hit him in the head."
The principal said she was aware of the trouble at a homecoming dance, and that she was going to work to resolve the issue Monday morning. But before she could act, a group of varsity basketball players allegedly tracked down one of the boys in gym class, a mother said.
"O.J. Mayo walked up to my son and put his hands on him and punched him, and the fight went on from there," she told Wagner.
The group also allegedly tracked down another boy in the halls of the high school, a mother said.
"(He was) chased by the varsity basketball team at North College Hill, where one of the students tried to push him over the rail," she said.
One student was sent to a hospital, Wagner reported.
The principal told News 5 that all students involved were sent home and that she is investigating.
A man who answered at Mayo's house denied Mayo attacked anyone, but said a boy has to defend himself.
Walker's guardian could not be contacted, Wagner reported.
Mayo is considered one of the country's best players. He was named Ohio's Mr. Basketball last season.
Mayo and Walker led North College Hill to the state title as sophomores last season. One of the mothers said she thinks that their accomplishments on the basketball court are getting the duo preferential treatment in the school building.
"Why is everybody protecting O.J. -- who is he?" she questioned. "He's no better than me."
Please dont tell me his first name is Orenthal?
More street thugs who beat up folks while waiting for multi-million dollar NBA contracts...
There's something about that name OJ.
They are now ready to star in the NBA.

I was right!
The first public mention of Mayo occurred in the Ashland Kentucky Daily Independent newspaper in an article called 'Phenom'. The article was published on January 21st, 2001, when Mayo was just a sixth grader. In that article he was listed as being a "6-foot-1½ point guard with size 14 shoe". The article also mentioned that he had repeated a grade and therefore was ineligible top play varsity high school basketball as of yet.
Mayo commuted from Huntington to Rose Hill Christian, a private school in Ashland, Kentucky, since student athletes can play high school varsity sports at a younger age as seventh graders in Kentucky. In the seventh grade, he put up numbers that dwarfed the production of players five years his senior. In his first game for his varsity team he scored 27 points, had seven rebounds and three steals. He was a seventh grader playing against juniors and seniors in high school.
During his seventh grade year in January of 2002, Mayo was mentioned Sports Illustrated Magazine and on CBS Sportsline.com. There were also full articles in the Louisville Courier-Journal, the Huntington, West Virginia Herald-Dispatch and USA Today.
After the basketball season was complete in his eighth grade year at Rose Hill, he moved to Cincinnati with his grandfather in order to attend North College Hill high school near Cincinnati, and test his mettle in a more competitive environment.
In 2005, the 6' 5" 205 lbs. 17-year old sophomore point guard was selected as Mr. Basketball of Ohio, in addition to being named Associated Press Division III Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. He averaged nearly 30 points, six rebounds, and seven assists per game. He also led his team to consecutive AP poll titles and garnered much attention from the media, appearing in the pages of Sports Illustrated among other publications. Much like another Ohio high school star, Lebron James, Mayo has drawn large enough crowds to force his team into seeking larger venues to support the growing crowds, and often attracts National Basketball Association stars such as Carmelo Anthony and even Lebron himself to watch his games.
When his team played a game in his old hometown, 3,500 fans packed a small arena in order to watch him play. Mayo had been considered a lock to make the leap straight from high school to the NBA, but the recent Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NBA and its players has instituted a rule making 19 years old the minimum age at which a player can enter the NBA, thus curtailing those plans. He is currently considering recruitment offers from the likes of Ohio State University, Wake Forest, West Virginia University and many other top programs.

There's hope for OJ. Now, he won't be able to wear gold chains outside of his suit when he's making millions in the NBA.
This kid has been in the news for at least 5-6 years now. He's been givin' everything he's wanted since birth?!
Didn't OJ's family take a house and money to move into this Cincinnati school district (from the Eastern Kentucky area)? Why wasn't that ever investigated?
Does anyone know if the reports of a 12 ACT score are accurate?
12?!
It's been a long time ... but don't you get a "9" for correctly completing your personal information?
Boycott the NBA! Until that league of thugs is cleaned up basketball is not a sport you will want your son involved in. Don't watch it, don't attend games, don't allow your children to buy their sports clothes.
The pro teams should have FARM CLUBS to develop young talent, like baseball and hockey. With T.V. and unmitigated greed, it won't change.
It is totally ABSURD to have universities as the ONLY avenue to pro football or pro basketball. What has their talent for a ball to do with getting an educational degree? Their failure rate in the educational arena is embarrassing.
Magic Johnson was on T.V. for ONE show. He's a college grad and sounded like an illiterate ghetto home boy. He embarrassed himself, his college degree and the NBA. Pathetic.
These thug-o-ramas constantly illustrate the absurdity of the entire business of pro-basketball and -football.
It doesn't do ANY good for civic leaders and role models for, er, the obvious minority group who is in these sports to TELL the young men: BOOKS, not BALLS. Get outta the street and go home and STUDY.
Sad.
What 14-year-old ghetto kid is going to listen to Cosby when he sees the thug ball players on their booze cruises, wearing all the bling and making millions?
Sad.
Pro sports are no ticket out of the ghetto or 99% of all those boys. It's only a ticket to a low-skilled job and continued poverty.
I think that you're correct. If were up to me there would be no more athletic scholarships. The schools would still have their teams, but you would actually have to get into the school on your own merits first.
For those who say that this would hurt kids from the ghetto, I say turn all of the athletic scholarships into academic scholarships, so bright kids who might not get a chance to go to college will, and dirtbags like this guy won't waste a space that could be filled by someone who actually deserves it.
12?!
He will be turning 18 in two weeks and he is only a High School junior. At that age, he could easily be a college freshman.
An ACT score of 12 is rather sad. The college that picks him up will obviously have to have someone complete his academics *for* him.
