Fantastic table! (reference, date?)
Note the answers for Lebanon. They've been ravaged by a civil war between Christians and Muslims which cost tens of thousands of lives, and the results are: Christans +/- 91/7, Muslims +/- 92/7 and Jews +/- 0/99 !!
Don't know if I should cry or laugh.

It was a research from the Pew Research Center:

Yet I don't understand how a sane person could have a 'favorable' view of islam/muslims.

If you have talk radio there, that might be a good way to get the issue in front of the public and force the print media to deal with it.

Thanks for the link.
Well, the problem is that not all Muslims immigrants are either rapists or terrorists. (On the contrary - despite everything it is still a small minority).
However, a majority of terrorists and rapists as well, although I don't know of any reliable statistics on that count, are Muslims - despite the Muslim communities only make up a small percentage of the population in European countries.
That means that the Muslim community really has to act to help root out these weeds. And it is here the liberals are so wrong. They think they are protecting the Muslims by hiding these facts, and not demanding that the Muslims help in combating these ills. On the contrary they are helping to stoke the fires to create a massive backlash. And in all likelihood that is going to be very bad also for the majority of Muslims who follow the laws of the land.

The problem is that the Muslims do nothing to weed out terrorists. After 9/11, a poll came out in the Netherlands that showed that 2/3 of Dutch muslims understood the terrorists' motives. Not all of these people approved of the actions, but it really is indicative. The 'good Muslim' is really just hypothetical, because there are not too many of them.
It is difficult to find a non-raping, non-terrorist muslim who commits no crimes and does not hate jews. They exist. But they are not many.

Crazy, isn't it? I watch to O'Reilly's show, and sometimes he talks about Jessica's Law. He gets - rightly - outraged when rapists get a few years. Well, here they mostly get a few MONTHS. The system in this country is just crazy.

I have no idea about the legality of a political ad in that country. Call yourself "A Concerned Citizen" and make a political action group if needed. Don't say anything negative about Islam in your ad, of course. I'm saying that you could reprint a whole entire article as your ad. Cut out the article, paste it onto a piece of paper, and above it simply write "Is this what Annemarie thinks is justice?"....... or something like that.

It would be intersting to know when that chart was put together; it's hard to imagine that Great Britian has the highest Muslim favorability rating in Europe (at 72%).
Others that caught my eye:
- "Progressive/secular" Turkey having the lowest Christian favorability rating (at 21%).
- (Half Christian, half Muslim) Lebanon having a Jewish favorability rating of ZERO.

It's insane isn't it? You just shake your head in disbelief.
Awhile back when I first discovered FreeRepublic, one of its posters said the following, "The Left won't be happy until a stranger can enter my house and make love to my dog." It's so funny and so over the top and yet................
Thank you for responding so quickly.

Actually, terrizing Christians is SOP in most Middle Eastern -Muslim countries (outside of Turkey). Several years ago I had a discussion about why the Catholic church hid the facts of the damage and desecration of the church of the Nativity in Bethelehem when Muslim terrorists took it over and why the Church in general, engaged in bashing the Israelis when the Israelis responded to terrorist attacks. He hemmed and hawed a lot but basically admitted that they went light on the Muslim/Islamofacists because they feared retaliation that would be taken on the Church and its members in predominantly Muslim countries. Basically, they participate in a coverup of anti-Christian abuse and atrocities because if attention were called to it - it would be much worse. Pretty sad - also a response to those that claim all we need to do is 'understand' the terrorists.

That is a informative chart you posted. Where did it come from?

Would that be legal, or are there laws against incitement of racial hatred or such like that would be invoked to stop such an ad? I would not doubt that, but couldn't you make the ad informative of the crime but ethnically "neutral"? The crime alone was bad enough to focus attention on the case, the circumstances will become self evident on examination.

faq,
I think it is a great idea. My question was really directed at TheOneHans. I wondered if there where laws that would make it difficult to post such an ad.
Your further suggestion to just post a copy of one or two of the news articles are great, but it may still get in trouble if there are laws against "political advertisements" (remember we are not talking of the good ol'USA, home of the free, but of a country stuck in Old Europe).
Of course I guess it would be very difficult to find any reason not to allow ads with just the various news stories - day by day - the readers would be able to follow the story from 2001. Hardly any comments would be necessary.

How about giving these people the full truth meneer Hans?
The rape was end of 1999 / beginning 2000. The police report was from about the 14th of february 2000. Mrs. Anne Marie Hoogland only went to work for the "stadsdeelraad" (part city council) in october of that year and as the NOVA report clearly states there was a damning report over the activities from the council regarding this case, the failures of childservices and an acknowledgement in this report about having failed the child and her parents, less than 5 months after mrs. Hoogland had started working there (april-may 2001).
The report also states that it was mrs. Hoogland personally (against advise from child-services et al) who worked in finding a place in an institution for this 15 year old somewhat retarded/mentally handicapped girl.
The decision to keep it secret was made (in all likelyhood when looking at the date of the police-report) by the previous head of the "stadsdeelraad" and not by mrs. Hoogland. Furthermore it was a decision that was made by the police, child-services and several more welfare organisations to protect the girl concerned (who at the age of 11 was so poorly that she was only able to speak 3 words and in a terrible state), to let the legal system prosecute the men involved and to stop potential unrest and problems in the neighborhood.
And as we know from last week sometimes things like this can lead to serious unrest and several fatalities (Birmingham UK). Furthermore the suspects were tried and convicted for their crimes. Another little thing, according to NOVA it was a mixed group of kids (both muslim and non muslims).
To: Canadian Outrage
from your name I can only guess you are from Canada??
And you are calling us dutch corrupt and immoral??
Canada, the country where last year 23,534 were sexually assaulted?? That country? Compared to the Netherlands where in that same year 4,432 women were the victim of sexual assault??
And yes, Canada has roughly twice the number of people living in it compared to the Netherlands, but even if you multiply the number of sexual assaults in the Netherlands you will get less than 9,000 and that is a whole lot less than 23,500 women.
FYI, according to transparency.org who studies worldwide corruption in the world, the Netherlands is number 11 (number 1 being the least corrupt country in the world) and Canada is number 14 in that list, making Canada slightly more corrupt as the Netherlands.
