May God bless and keep your daughter-in-law alive and well.
May Mary, Mother of God, protect her and your family.
Prayer bump
Prayers for All.
Fight hard New Mama, we are all pulling for you to stay with us.
God Bless you Lisa for all your doing.
Ava Malia is like Ava Maria. : )
Kiss the baby for us and whisper in your DIL ears that we are praying with all our hearts.
Please Lord Here all Our Prayers.
Prayers for your granddaughter's mom healing.
HAIL, HOLY QUEEN, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Pray for us Holy Mother of God. Pray for the sick of body and soul.
A bump and a prayer.
I am so sorry in not giving everyone an update sooner. Between hospital visits, helping care for the baby, and work.....I've been so very busy......
My son and our family fought hard to get April out of our community hospital, as she was not getting better, just worse. He was by her side constantly, and suffering as he saw her go downhill. He finally came to me last Saturday afternoon at the hospital, and said, "mom, what can I do, they're letting her die here". As they are not yet married (but will be very soon!), he had no legal rights over her medical treatment.
God moved me, and I immediately had the head of ICU paged, and told him that I wanted answers NOW. Phone calls were made, and a family meeting was called, with the chief of staff of the hospital called in. My daughter is very calm, where I'm more emotional, so I sent her into the meeting.
The chief of staff admitted that they had never dealt with a case like Aprils. He said that her condition (at that point they thought it was just the sepsis infection) was potentially life threatening.
April's sister, who had been calling all the shots, said, "go ahead and move her.".
They immediately transferred her to Mt. Carmel W in Cols. Ohio, and there they diagnosed her as having "peripartum cardiomyopathy". This is a very serious illness, and potentially life threatening. Our local hospital had been pumping her full of fluids, putting additional strain on her heart. She was put on heart meds, and they finally weened her off the ventilator.
This afternoon, she was discharged, and she is finally reunited with baby Ava Malia. She, my son, and the baby are home now, spending a quiet evening together.
April's prognosis is still not known, the next 6 months will determine if the heart is healing. God has worked so many miracles on this sweet young woman who is like a daughter to me, I know their future is bright.
If anyone here has additional information on peripartum cardiomyopathy, please let me know.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers. You all are the best.
Tracy, if you can forward this to all FReepers on your prayer list, I'd appreciate it.
Wow. April's in my prayers. And thank God you got her out of the place she was.....
Father, please comfort this family and bring them the strength to deal with everything. Please guide the doctors to diagnose and treat her sickness correctly and quickly. Lord, we pray this in Your Son's name.
Wow they diagnosed that with the baby?
From what I can find here:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000188.htm
It appears to be more of an illness with the mother.
I hope your future daughter in Law is doing ok.
I will keep looking for you....
Thank God that HE has allowed this Angel to remain with you and your family.
Please post your replies to LisaMalia

Thanks for the ping trussell!!
Local hospitals are find for hernias, hemorrhoids and routine stuff. But when something any more serious arises, it's time to head for the nearest medical center or university hospital.
I'm glad to hear she's home. May she recover fully without futher incident.
Thank God she was moved and proper treatment was given so that she is finally united with her young baby! I pray that God watches over this family now, and continues to help your son's wife-to-be recover. May they live a long and happy life together, creating millions of memories along the way. God bless you all.
Thank you so much for the update! I continue in prayer for April and for all of you!
