Iran's hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday openly called for Israel to be "wiped off the map"."The establishment of the Zionist regime was a move by the world oppressor against the Islamic world," the president told a conference in Tehran entitled 'The World without Zionism'.
"The skirmishes in the occupied land are part of a war of destiny. The outcome of hundreds of years of war will be defined in Palestinian land," he said.
"As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map," said Ahmadinejad, referring to Iran's revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
His comments were the first time in years that such a high-ranking Iranian official has called for Israel's eradication, even though such slogans are still regularly used at regime rallies.
Well, very simple Towelhead... eradication of Israel will also mean the End of Islam... these two things go together!

We all know its not a religion of peace. It has many peaceful members. It has many bloodthirsty barbarian members. We can't kill them all, and we don't want to.
Our government cannot take too strong a stand against Islam in general without losing so much public support that it could no longer govern. Nor do we wish to alienate those Muslims who happen to be peaceful (I think there are some, but the evidence is weak...). It's quite a conundrum.
BTW: This is not the first time Iran has called for "wiping Israel off the map". For instance, a previous official statement of theirs claimed Allah would be pleased even if 100 million Muslims died in exchange for extermination of Israel. The statement was made as justification for a nuclear strike against Israel.

As others have noted, this guy ought to read Ezekiel 38. It tells him there, and in Ezekiel 39 what will happen to those who try to destroy Israel. But it will happen. It has been foretold.
I've been opposed to American invasions in the middle east, but this flaming Iranian a-h-le seems to want it to happen. He has a death wish, I guess. It will do more tha stiffen Israel's resolve. I'd put good money on a pre-emptive airstrike by Israel of Iran's nuclear facilities. Israel has been there, done that. The members of the Iranian leadership either have short memories or no brains to go with their big mouths....
