Grand Jury in CIA Leak Case Adjourns

WASHINGTON - The federal grand jury investigating the leak of a CIA officer's identity met for three hours Wednesday with Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald and adjourned for the day without announcing any action.

Fitzgerald is known to be putting the finishing touches on a two-year criminal probe that has ensnared two senior White House aides.

After the grand jury left for the day, federal prosecutors conferred for about an hour in the grand jury area of the federal courthouse.

There was no word on whether Fitzgerald planned to make any announcement or whether the grand jury planned to meet again.

Most of the news outlets when they were not almost in glee over the 2000th soldier being killed stated that indictments would be handed down today. Wrong again and again and again.

Giztgerald came into the Grand Jury room carrying a ham sandwich. Unfortunately, the sandwich indicted the Grand Jury.

It's refreshing to see a news story with just the facts. No speculation, no un-named sources. Makes for a pretty short article, though, which shows the media hasn't a clue what's going to happen.

But wait, ABC said they double sourced the fact that indictments would be handed down today. (unbelievable sarcasm alert)

It was Christmas morning for the media and they wake to find that Santa didn't stop by to deliver their presents. They are so insignificant that he didn't even deliver coal and sticks to the bad reporters, they were so insignificant he didn't even waste his time. Heheheheheh.

Either that or the standard Thursday Surprise that damages the GOP. If this is the case, I will know there are DNC fingerprints all over this.

We all know the routine.

1) Story breaks Thursday in time for evening newscasts.
2) Friday fishwraps lead on A1 with above the fold, large-type headlines
3) Sunday shows are all about this
4) Victims are heard from on Monday (side note - another FR thread is now reporting that Joe Wilson is giving a speech to the National Press Club on Monday).

And then it's on to the next scandal.

They may have been. Sealed. And not announced until served.

IOW, we just don't know.

Although I noticed the article portrays Libby and Rove as having been "ensnared."

So did one of the jurors blab to John Roberts after they were dismissed?

Yeah, but it everyone did that MSM news broadcasts would only be about 30 seconds long.

True. But it's only one sentence out of four; a noticeable improvement for an occupation that apparently prefers to make the news instead of simply reporting it.

I don't think 3 hours is enough to get votes on the rumored (by the Libs) 22 indictments. Barring an extension, Friday is the last day for the GJ. I doubt if Fitz had more charges to present that he would have let the GJ leave early today. Now the question is if there were votes this morning (or last week) or if Fitz was going through the key facts with the GJ to explain why certain charges were not being brought.
