Mr. Cheney's chief of staff, I. Lewis Libby, . . . would be indicted, according to people close to the administration. Others in the vice president's office also could face charges, these people said.

I don't know if I trust Wall Street Journal's sources, but I do think Libby, but not Rove, will be indicted by Friday. I hope I am wrong about Libby.

For what it's worth, Judge Napolitano just told John Gibson that the fact that Fitzgerald was seen at Rove's office today, he thinks a deal is being cut.

While Mr. Novak has declined to say whether he talked to the special prosecutor, an attorney involved in the case confirmed that the columnist had discussed the source of that information. Mr. Novak's attorney declined to comment. But this is interesting, because Novak has as good as said that it is none of the "big" names in the investigation - implied that it was not in the Administration.

"the fact that Fitzgerald was seen at Rove's office today,"

Did Judge Nappy happen to mention if Rove's attorney was present?

Yes. And Novak has protected his source from public, by only testifying before the committee.
THe other reporters have violated that standard, by leaking the name of their sources to the public -- when all they had to do was tell it to the grand jury.
Novak has refused to talk until this is all over. I hope it is soon, because I think there is some real stuff to hear from him.

I meant to write Rove's lawyer's office.

Oh, I believe the report was that on Tuesday Fitz was seen at the office of Rove's Attorney.
Another thread on FR talks about this, specifically whether Fitz would go their to talk, or make them come to him.
I still am hopeful it was a courtesy call to tell him that he appreciated the openness and cooperation of his client, and to pass on his gratitude.
To: TSchmereL
If it's just Libby on perjury and/or obstruction of justice than the administration and the rest of us can breath a sigh of relief.

I know for a fact that Elvis is a baggage handler at a small little airport in Panama near the border with Costa Rica. I saw him there. Really!

I hope Rove's attorney doesn't pull an Arthur Liman and cut a deal for a crime his client is not guilty of a la Michael Milken.
To: Bigh4u2
I don't think it was Rove's office - I read that it was Rove's attorney's office.

No, no, here's how it all goes down. Libby gets indicted and about 6 months later Cheney, claims he is exhausted from the stress of the constant hammering by the media and announces his resignation. Bush appoints Condoliza rice as VP and she is easily approved by the Congress. THEN about 16-18 months before the election GWB suddenly resigns due to an assassination attempt (arranged by the Architect) that wounds him to the point his doctors suggest he step down for health reasons. Rice becomes the president and runs in 2008 as an incumbent, blowing away the Dems.
On November 3rd the Democrats issue a statement claiming Rice is not really black but is the sister of Karl Rove and appears black due to skin coloring injections she began receiving 40 years ago. The Democrats call on all blacks to demand a re vote for the black population due to their being deceived by the "culture of corruption"
