Police Search For Gun In Hamtramck Double Murder Investigators Interview Person Of Interest
POSTED: 2:06 pm EDT October 26, 2005
HAMTRAMCK, Mich. -- Investigators were sweeping through a Hamtramck neighborhood Wednesday in search of the gun used in the shooting deaths of an off-duty sheriff's deputy and his roommate, Local 4 reported.
Corporal Roger Young (pictured, right), 38, of the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, was found dead in the back yard of his home on Nagle Street, near Interstate 75 and Carpenter Road, in Hamtramck Tuesday night. His roommate, Jason McBreyer, 22, was found shot to death in the kitchen of the home, according to police.
Investigators said both men suffered gunshot wounds to the torso.
Leonard Solecki, who lives in the neighborhood, told Local 4 he didn't hear anything unusual on Tuesday, but police said the sound of the shots may have been drowned out by traffic noise on I-75, the station reported.
"My son called me up and told me about it," Solecki said.
Police are interviewing a teen found in the area with blood on his sneakers, the station reported. Authorities are referring to him as a person of interest.
Sources said that Young had a gambling problem, but it's believed the shooting may have been tied to an acquaintance of a woman Young used to date, the station reported.
Young worked in the jail division of the Wayne County Sheriff's Department and was assigned to recreation duties.

HMMMM....
If the teenager did it, he's in big trouble. He'll be grounded for a month!
Isn't this the same town in which the city council voted to allow Muslim "call to prayers" 5 times a day be broadcast over loudspeakers all over town?
Gees, gag me with a spoon.
