Ford said its contract with the United Autoworkers union allows 48 minutes of bathroom breaks per shift.

Forty eight minutes??? Assuming that we're talking about an eight hour shift, that is absolutely ridiculous...unless, of course, the bathrooms are a ten minute walk (each way) from an employee's work station. And how likely is that?

48 minutes of bathroom breaks - sheesh! Typical union stuff. I'm surprise the union doesn't have a worker from the "door" union whose job it is to open and close the bathroom door for a union worker, a "toilet paper" union worker to... well, you-know-what, and "soap dispenser" union worker to dispense the soap for handwashing, and a "towel" union worker to help the autobuilder union worker wipe his or her hands. Union workers, after all, can only do their specific duty and no other.
