I fully agree with your sentiment. But look at Zimbabwe, which was once Rhodesia. It had a functioning economy, profitable farms, good infrastructure, primary and even secondary industries (arms, trains, and mining equipment), a first world health system, budget surplus and security. Everybody in the world (except the whites in southern Africa) wanted Mugabe to take over. The result:
Nothing left. The place has been ravaged. 12 Mio. starving. The world is mum.
South Africa is going down the same drain. When the pals took over Gaza I knew this would be the result. The problem is that pointing to this obvious result is apparently no valid argument in the liberal playbook which governs international politics.
