... and here's Harry!

REID STATEMENT ON INDICTMENT

Washington, D.C. – Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid released the following statement.

“These are very serious charges. They suggest that a senior White House aide put politics ahead of our national security and the rule of law.

“This case is bigger than the leak of highly classified information. It is about how the Bush White House manufactured and manipulated intelligence in order to bolster its case for the war in Iraq and to discredit anyone who dared to challenge the president.

“It's now time for President Bush to lead and answer the very serious questions raised by this investigation. The American people have already paid too steep a price as a result of misconduct at the White House, and they deserve better.”

Does anyone have a good source (website?) that lists the crimes committed by Clinton while he was in the White House, particulary the charges brought against him? My lib friends are starting their "I told you so" language about Scooter's indictment.

thanks!

I guess they feel the need to rush out and get people to ignore the fact that Fitzgerald is saying exactly the oposite.

another chapter in the Republicans' culture of corruption.

Is there a Zell Miller amongst the Republicans who will stand up and slap this freak down?

"This is going to go on and on. This is going to consume the REST of the Bush presidency!"

One of the commentators on CNN having an on-air orgasm of press impartiality...

Their overreaching and badly. They can try to re-re-re-re debate the issues of the 2004 campaign, i.e. Bush lied, people died. Good luck.

Not to belabor the obvious, but she and those of her ilk are more concerned with smearing the Republican party than finding out what actually occurred.

I can't believe that Pelosi hasn't been indicted for something.

"At the heart of these indictments was the effort by the Bush Administration to discredit critics of its Iraq policy with reckless disregard for national security and the public trust."

Is she going back to this again? It makes you wonder if any Democrat is capable of an original thought.

I hope that the trial is soon, the parade of witnesses will be remarkable. Wilson, Palme, Russert, Miller, Cooper Kristof, the CIA guy, anyone who knows or lives near the Wilsons, NYT Honchos and a cast of thousands and anyone the GJ and FBI talked to.

From what I saw the Indictment perpetuated the lie that Wilson discovered the forged documents.

> culture of corruption

I've seen this play before. The Labour party in the UK used it to bring down the Conservatives. With them, it was 'sleaze' -- a term that was continually repeated, and parroted by a friendly media. Expect the same here for the next few years.

See, right there: The Law matters (when it looks like conservatives are breaking it.) But for those of us on the left (who know what's best for the smelly pleabians we lord over) the law shouldn't matter - only our intentions should matter.
