I think they're just arriving now in Canada and get launched in the USA at a show in November, before public sales in the Spring.
So I guess we'll soon see how well Toyota has done their homework regarding the U.S. market. They don't screw up too much, but who knows.
One thing I don't expect is for Toyota to play up the "Made in France" angle much.

Come on, it's not ugly, it's actually kind of nice compared to other subcompacts I have seen. It will sell to commuters like myself that want good cheap transportation. I don't need a big V8 to sit in traffic and I think hybrids will prove costly to own in the long run. With the Toyota name plate on it, I'm betting it will be reliable and somewhat fun to drive like the old Honda Civic hatchbacks.
Also it has "Ricer" potential, sort of like the Scion Xa so that will sell a few of them, too.
