If nearly every threat from terror comes frm Canada - and it seems irrefutably true- then we should be looking North a lot harder!

Canada is no longer the joke it used to be, no longer just the place rich Americans go to fish and hunt but is otherwise an empty wilderness. It is our worst danger and getting worse!

This is pointless. Nobody is afraid of Mexico. It's the unbridled illegals, the majority of which come from Mexico, that are sapping our society that we want stopped.

It's also not about isolationism. Talk about a straw man. It's about the sovereignty of the United States. It's about the law as it pertains to millions of people invading our country. It's about the responsibility of the federal gubmint to control our borders.

This all adds up to Canada posing a threat to US security, one far more dangerous than Mexico in the short term. So, I would hope that the far right, neo-isolationists within the Conservative movement could get their heads on straight. Mexico is a danger in many ways, but Canada is the monster in our back yard.

And, he thinks we are overreacting?

I used to vacation in northern Vermont.

That boarder was and still is wide open.

Wait till it happens, then bitch. No one cares today and Vermont is not going to do anything about it as long as they just pass through and keep on moving.

The entire northern new england boarder with Canada is a joke, the cigarette trade is now bigger than the grass trade and people are well paid to ensure it stays this way.

Canada has a very large Muslim population including a very sizable radical element. If terrorists are going to enter this country by crossing a border, it will most likely be from Canada, not Mexico.

Of course certain people (Joseph Farah most notable) are hoping the terrorists smuggle a nuke across the Mexico border so they can blame it on President Bush and call for his impeachment.

Yes Canada is a problem but only a moron would believe that no terrorists would or have entered by way of Mexico.

Canada's muslim population is more of an immediate threat to our security by far than is Mexico.

Needed to adjust that sentence a little bit. Canada itself is about as dangerous as France.AWB

One thing the article barely touched on was the availability of social programs in Canada for the terrorist. The welfare system in Canada is such that a terrorist does not have to work. With the problem of work out of the way, a terrorist can spend all of their time and energies being a terrorist.

Want to find a terrorist? Start with the welfare roles with men of middle eastern origin.

Canada suffers from a national inferiority complex when it comes to the U.S. So, out of pure envy, the love to hate us. Take their national health care program that they love to talk about. What isn't commonly known is that unless one is well connected, it's a six month to a year's wait for a major surgery such as a hip or knee replacement. Additionally, those who can afford don't bother with their health system and simply travel to the U.S. for major health care needs. The fact that 90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the U.S. border says it all.

Actually the Mexican border became an extreme problem after 9/11. I think this was for 2 main reasons, Bush immediately moved MANY of our southern border patrol to the Canadian border and pundits and politicians started talking about amnesty.
