Jesse Jackson: Alito Supports States Rights, Rosa Parks Fought Against Them; "Struggle Continues"
CNN | governsleastgovernsbest

Posted on 10/31/2005 7:52:01 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Let the record show that at 10:47 AM on the day of Sam Alito's nomination, Jesse Jackson lumped Alito with the worst of Jim Crow.

Speaking of Rosa Parks, Jackson said:

"The laws that Rosa Parks fought against were based on states rights. Alito is a states rights person. The struggle continues."

"Let the record show that at 10:47 AM"

That didn't take very long.

To be expected, however.

Even for Jackson, I'm shocked that he would engage in this kind of crude, ugly attack.

And yet when Bush wanted to introduce a Constitutional amendment defining marriage as an institution between a man and a woman, liberals wanted the states to decide.

Hypocrites.

Tell Jack ass Jaackson to stifle. States rights doesn't equate Jim Crow. Rosa Parks helped put that to bed and although it was an ugly part of our history Jim Crow is not going to re-emerge any time soon---or maybe Jesse would like it to--so he could really be a victim.

Simple, Jesse, pass a constitutional amendment (2/3 of both houses) for those rights and issues you want incorporated into the constitution and supported by 3/4 of the states.

It's just that simple, Jesse.

Surprised to Jesse Jackson up this early in the morning - maybe he was just getting in from an assignation with an employee.

Its for reasons like this, Jackson turning a solemn event into a political rally, I was against Rosa Parks being viewed in the rotunda. Its also saved for Presidents and the like.

I cannot believe him. He can turn ANYTHING into race. Jesse Jackson is not just a race pimp, he is a race warlord.

People seem to be reacting with more humor than I can muster.

I was stupified to witness Jackson blithely associate Alito with the oppression of Rosa Parks.

I respect Rosa Parks, but Jessee's an idiot who's trying to steal her greatness ( what he did with MLK too) If Jesse doesn't like him it's more good news for this nomination...
