At one point, for example, she asserts that CBS News chief Andrew Heyward said that if the bloggers could come up with "lousy analysts" to attack the authenticity of the memos CBS could find its own "lousy analysts." In an e-mail to Vanity Fair, Heyward denied this.

Even her "home team" members will not hang with her.

Poor Ms. Mapes is in meltdown.

"Liberalism is a religion...like Islam."

YES!!! Yes, it is. But liberalism is also a sickness like islam.

Poor widdle Mary, pulling straight from the "victim" chapter of the liberal playbook.

I've got no sympathy for the lot of them. They're just reaping what they've sown.

I didn't know that the attack on our story was going to be as effective as a brilliantly run national political campaign, because that is what it was: a political campaign."

Typical Leftist speak - as if the forgeries themselves weren't a political campaign...

This is the end of liberal dominance over journalism, politics, etc.

They behave just like so many have in the past who lost power.

You must wonder if the Moors really understood that their term as rulers of Spain was over when Hannibal crossed the Pirinees?

Hey Mary: "FEA."

Or better yet: GFY. I don't believe one word of what you have written.

if the bloggers could come up with "lousy analysts"

We are not lousy. We are 100,000's of aknowledged experts in a broad diversity of fields, from computer science to military officers of all species, to whatever. We are 100,000's of thousands of people who go to work every day to practice technical trades and professions. We are not liberals who have never done an honest day's work being paid to argue all day about he meaning of "is" and the social consequences of something that "might of been true" when it clearly wasn't true.

"Thomas Jefferson would be telling us to lock n' load right about now."

You got that right. Thomas Jefferson would be in jail right now, undergoing psychiatric evaluation, and being ridiculed by a media smear campaign, egged on by local law enforcers. Rush and Hannity would both denounce him, calling themselves 'law and order guys'.

They would have to. If they spoke up for Mr. Jefferson, they would be ostracized by the right. Savage, who knows no one expects him to be rational, would be saying it like it is. Boortz would stand up for law and order. So they'd revert back to nursery rhymes. Yeah nursery rhymes were created to send coded messages across the land, bypassing Royal decrees on what is forbidden to speak about. That's what would happen to talk radio and the internet.

And then, the ultimate: coded messages would be called campaign contributions. The word, 'broomstick' would mean Hillary. Mentioning broomsticks would be a contribution to the RNC.

Just look back to Schiavo [Schindler]. People who broke the law to bring a cup of water were smeared. How much worse for someone who values free speech and freedom of our New Media press?

This is our greatest danger of the moment. Thank you, McCain.

Little Mary still doesn't recognize that her kind are headed for the dustbin of history. And all the kings horses and so forth won't put her world back together again. Move.on Mary.

But they can be easily dismissed as forgeries, and they were. The only ones who still don't admit it are Mapes and Rather, which shows where they are in the partisan nutcase pecking order.

"I didn't know that the attack on our story was going to be as effective as a brilliantly run national political campaign, because that is what it was: a political campaign."

And now we're solidly behind Samuel Alito, Ms. Mapes.

Be afraid...be very afraid. LOL.

As another poster said above, the left truly has their own religion. It's faith, not facts that count for these horrible people that want to dictate how the rest of us live.

"We are not liberals who have never done an honest day's work being paid to argue all day about he meaning of "is" and the social consequences of something that "might of been true" when it clearly wasn't true."

That reminds me of Schumer. He went way-out to defend Clinton's definition of 'kiss this', to speak in code. Schumer [House member at the time] said that someone could look up at the sky at a certain place at a certain time where the sky is pink and honestly say that the sky is pink.

No Mr. Putzhead, Schumer. The sky is not pink. If you sit on the bench, sworn in, and tell a jury that the sky is pink, you are committing perjury. You know it. We know it. A middle aged man knows what color the sky is, you PUTZ! Da'Amato had your number you man who is what you look like! I know that insult would hurt, Chuckie-boy! You are what you look like! And your brains are more ugly than that! So long as I'm permitted to speak on the internet, you will never live that moment down, Schumer!

***I did a quick Google search and found that the Verona Papers indicate that indeed there were many Communists in positions of power during the McCarthy era. But I really couldn't find much on the papers. Could you possibly provide a good link?****

Here's your problem, they are the VENONA Papers, not Verona.

Do another Google search and get ready to click and download :-)

Or.... read them here. The CIA website Venona: Soviet Espionage

"As another poster said above, the left truly has their own religion."

Absolutely. I remember Paul Weyrich and his NET team had gotten word out that secularism is a religion. I think it was brain child of 'The Next Revolution' [part of NET]. And they were indeed, part of the leadership of this Revolution. They also coined the phrased, 'Social Marxism'. Rush quoted that term a few months ago and had a good laugh about it.

Brad Keena was one of them. But the elder, the gentleman with the pipe, he seemed to be the real brains, although he couldn't keep up with the times, IMHO, because he wasn't much for computers. I can't believe I forgot his name. I remember Brad Keena because he rebelled against a cigarette tax by having everyone smoke on the set one morning. None of them were real smokers. Their eyes were watering. They were coughing. It was a blast.
