That's what I was getting at!

Is there anywhere in the Irish Republic where someone like Edmund Burke would be able to be elected today?

You know, akin to New Hampshire or Arizona, apprx a decade ago?

If it was actually Edmund Burke, then anywhere! Someone like him.... hmmmm I'll have to think about that! (Happygal and Colosis, any ideas?)

There was what I term an old school Fine Gael TD (in contrast to the modern liberal party) in Louth called Brendan McGahon, but retired at the last election.
