UPDATE

AARON BROWN OUT AT CNN
Wed Nov 02 2005 15:43:11 ET

To: All CNN Staff

From: Jon Klein

We have made some programming decisions which will impact our prime time schedule as well as our colleague Aaron Brown. Aaron will be leaving CNN and is very much looking forward to some well-deserved time off with his family.

Aaron has made enormous contributions to CNN since his groundbreaking anchoring of Sept. 11th through the war in Iraq to the Tsunami to the recent hurricanes. Outside of the big stories, on a nightly basis, Aaron has provided our audiences with insight into the events of the United States and the world with eloquence and the highest journalist integrity.

Besides his stellar work as an anchor, Aaron stands as an absolutely brilliant writer, evident by the thoughtful perspective he injects into every story he touches.

Personally, I will miss Aaron and his wicked sense of humor. We cannot thank Aaron enough for the skills and professionalism he brought to CNN. Given his respect throughout the industry, there is no question that he will be missed.

Too bad cnn thinks their lower ratings is because of the anchors...

Hey cnn: It's your BIASED reporting, STUPID!

Actually that's an insult to Deidre Downs, the current Miss America.

She's magna cum laude and has deferred her entry to med school for her reigning year and wants to become a pediatrician.

How long before he shows up at Fox? What FOX anchor will take his place? CNN is hurting and needs a conservative real bad.

James Rosen is on Fox now covering the Prince and Camilla's trip. He is using a definite tongue in cheek tone.

Koppel, 65, becomes the latest in a string of veteran network news anchors to sign off in recent months, following Tom Brokaw of NBC, Dan Rather of CBS and Koppel's ABC News colleague, the late Peter Jennings.

The MSM should just get out of the News business entirely, they are no good at it and everybody knows it.

The NY Times, LA Times, they're all in free fall.

"Good. He was sickening."

. . .post 'family attentions'. . .wonder where he will go. . .write a book? Hollywood? Air America maybe. . .campaign for Alfranken for President?. . .

Guess there are possibilities out there for someone with his 'skill set'. . .

I'll bet the 15 viewers that watched him will be disappointed.

Dr Mengele is gone. Great

Every time I saw this man , with his glasses, and his haircut, I could only think that he would have been appropriate working for the Reich if he wore a different outfit.

I nicknamed him, Dr Mengele, the teleprompter reader.

"Anyone know what happened to James Rosen? Fox guy at the White House/D.C.?:

Did not realize he was actually gone. . .though I noticed the new face; I like Rosen; he was good and had a sense of humor. . .so now I am wondering. . .'where' did he go?

Had been wondering since Juliet Huddy and Mike Jerritt are co-hosting 'Dayside' what happened to other anchor. . .very animated. . .used to be in different slots during day etc. . (did not watch show much and cannot remeber her name).I liked her too. . but 'what is her n a m e'??? . . .L i n d a. . . .I am getting close/maybe.

B----or-----ing. Drab and boring. Listening to him made watching paint dry seem like an exciting alternative.

Yes, he's of the type that thinks we confuse boring with intellectual. Blecch.

They didn't fire him -- he just wanted to spend more time with his family (sarcasm) -- This is way too funny -- Bush hater gets the boot!

These RATs need a better storyline -- spending more time with the family doesn't cut it!

Yes, the Miss America site says she is aiming at being a pediatrician. Nevertheless, it's no insult to her to say that she's better looking than Aaron Brown.

Actually, we could get serious about this. I'll bet if the media took the last five Miss America winners and made them news anchors, they'd be a lot better, fairer, and easier to watch than the guys who are doing the job now.

''He'll end up at MSNBC with all the other deadbeats!.''...LOL That's for sure! He's probably heading over there right now to replace'' Tucker Carlson'' who's actually getting lower ratings then the now defunct ''Phil Donahue show''. Hard to believe!
