She looks like she is doing great Mama_Bear. What a cute dog. I have a Grandfather who lives at a assistant living. He loves it. What a great time he has and the friends he has made has him very happy. When I call, he's always on his way to do something. He's in his late 80's. :)

Yes, I think she will be happy there. Even though we went as often as we could to see her when she was at home, she was alone too much of the time. Now she will be able to socialize as little or as much as she likes with other people who are in her same situation.

It is a blessing that she has, on her own, decided that this is what she wants to do. Often it is a struggle to get elderly people to realize that they would be so much better off in a retirement community. Of course, she knows that we will not be abandoning her there. She will see us as often as she did before she fell and broke her hip and wrist. Actually, nothing much will change, except all her meals will be fixed for her and she will have more people around to socialize with. She can even take some of her own furniture and decorate her apartment just like her home was decorated....just on a smaller scale. :-)
