Pretty startling. We have heavily Arab areas, e.g. in New Jersey and Dearborne, Michigan, but you never hear about our police being afraid to go there. The Arabs there must know they are living in wussy-ville and can get away with it.
Honestly, anyone who has been to Euroupe lately knows...there's a "big" difference between the Arabs over here and the ones over there. (mostly)
The good ole USA Assimilates like the Borg...whereas France, for all its haughty noble preaching, keeps ethnic populations seperated and alienated within its culture.
And they didn't hear about it in France, either. Until it exploded. The same hatred is being preached in mosques all over America, too. Our "Arabs" are not "different."
I recently read an article in National Review where the author pointed out that in the US, Muslim groups have generally kept their heads down and not tried the same sort of intimidation we've seen in France, the Netherlands, Norway etc. After 9/11, groups of young muslims in the UK ran around stopping cars and demanding that the drivers praise Osama Bin Laden.
The author pointed out that, in many parts of the US, doing something like that would be a great way to get your brains blown out all over the roadway. So, the muslims in this country have generally been well-behaved.
Plus, we don't have the same easy access to welfare in this country as exists in much of Europe. So, young muslim males have a lot less time on their hands to stew and plot.
