"erase the court's balanced rulings"
Those ruling include the loss of private property rights for Americans and the un-limited growth of government.
One can only hope to change this court.

If Samuel Alito is confirmed, he could almost immediately begin to erase the court's balanced rulings on contentious social issues like abortion, religion and capital punishment.Abortion on demand is "balanced" according to AP and the left. Sickening...

"We may not have any more swing votes on the court," said Suzanne Goldberg, a professor at Rutgers School of Law.
Oh, boohoohoo. This is good news.

With pragmatic Justice Sandra Day O'Connor as its pendulum, . . .I see, it was OK for O'Connor to swing it left, but not for this guy to swing it right. I see, we have a double standard in place don't we?

erase the court's balanced rulings Translation: erase the gains liberals have made via the courts since they can't win in the court of public opinion.

What is so obvious about their hatred of this move, is that it is simply a delayed reaction to years of conservative victories in the elections. The only reason that a court shifts is because of growing electoral victories in the WH and the Congress.
I never hear them complaining about the swing left to the court after several years of FDR. It wasn't happening fast enough for him, so he tried to pack the court. Can you imagine what they would say about Bush had he tried that?
unbelievable.

Alito WILL shift the court toward a solid conservative / strict constructionist posture.
Libs are pathetic. Always doing an endzone dance on their own 40-yard line.

the court has staked out moderate positions, often in line with public opinion but not necessarily clear-cut. What does "public opinion" have to do with issues before the Supreme Court?
