It makes perfect sense. Propagandize them early on that they can't have personal property, and it's wrong to have it. Maybe teach them to sing John Lennon's "Imagine". When they grow up they won't look askance at things like Kelo - which in fact ruled that we don't own our property. Get them thinking we shouldn't own anything - so why should we own our lives? It all fits together.

We're being squeezed into a world where everyone is a disposable peasant or peon. Just like the new disposable peasant/peon class being imported from other countries. Think it's not related? Think again. We despised "boomers" will be high cost items in our old age. So, save the money and terminate the boomers, and use the money saved to fund free maintenance repairs for the imported peasants and peons. It all fits.

All these things are reasons why I have my tagline. Note that on these issues the Dems and GOP offer exactly nothing as a remedy. And that's two rants in one evening :)

He's subtly introducing the idea that people should be terminated if they cost too much. Death By Spreadsheet! Yep, it's happened - a prominent politician proposes killing as a way to help the "health care crisis". (Read Medicare/Medicaid, Social Security.) It's a sign many have said to watch for, and now it's happened.

The SOP for handling complaints and inquiries in SC is to say, "I'll get back to you", then blow it off. SC government agencies run on a mixture of incompetence, inertia, and pollyana. If anything gets done right, it's just the law of averages in action. People who make persistent complaints or inquiries are sometimes opposed, sometimes for merely rocking the boat. Merits are not considered. Officially we're to believe that everything is perfect, running just fine, and everyone is required to have charmed lives. Anyone who does anything that might dispel the illusion - and doesn't go away - is considered just a troublemaker.

It pains me to have to say this about my home state, whose land and regular people I love dearly. But that's what I've seen too many times.

About music therapy, from personal experience. In 1970 I was in a rock-'n-roll band in Virginia. Every other month we played a free gig at a home for retarded and severely disabled teenagers - some were only a year younger than us. No other band would touch this - they were scared of the kids. But we took the job. It was amazing. The kids came alive, would sing along and sometimes dance if they were able. Even kids who usually just sat there all day would brighten up, some would try singing along if they knew the words from the radio. There was a lot of talk back then about the magical or spiritual power of music, and this was proof for us. This is Thanksgiving, and I'm thinking about the miracles I've seen in my life. That was one of them.

Sorry I'm much later to get to the thread than I usually am. I reread the post myself and saw several things of note. When I checked back on the SC website, I saw that sometimes use of drugs to control behavior (ie: of a lucid person) can be abuse. That certainly seems to be what happened.

I think that should include kids who are inappropriately medicated for convenience. I don't know what's wrong with some of these counselors! As far as I know, it is against the law to diagnose a minor as far as being a sociopath or bipolar. It's happening a second time to one family. In reality, the mother is scamming Social Security. The aunt is going for custody.

It reminds me of a little girl with Down's Syndrome that I saw, dance a ballet number flawlessly to instrumental music.

I agree with you 100%. I won't even go into the political agenda behind choosing which kids get doped up.

IIRC, a handful of states now have laws that only licensed psychiatrists can diagnose kids, and only they and MD's can prescribe. All states should do this. But it seems redundant - I don't think any state allows practicing medicine without a license.

We can take them on with tactics outlined in #499. School systems, like medical corporation, are set up to insulate individuals from responsibility and consequences of their actions. So, take on the school system only to learn who the responsible individuals are, then take on every responsible individual teacher, counselor, principle, administrator, and school board member. Also state government policy makers.

Practicing medicine without a license is a serious charge with serious penalties. Conspiracy to practice medicine without a license would be too. So before they forcibly drug some kid, school employees should think real hard about whether doing so is worth the consequences it may bring them.

And that's my one and only rant for tonight. Promise. :)

Thank you. Honestly, we weren't thinking much about God at the time. The next night you might find us playing a dive, in a cage, with bottles thrown at us. Anyway - we were young, idealistic 60's kids then; and just wanted to do something to help. Excuse me for being mystical, but something got going between us and those kids that felt amazing. Somehow it made us play better and put more into it. You mentioned Down's syndrome. There were kids with that there also. When they got going with the music it was like watching a light come on inside them, or something. In retrospect, I'm sure I saw a some kind of miracle, or something very close.

You hit onto something that has been dwelling in the back of our minds for years. We were puzzled that we always were able somehow to muddle through our relations with the various institutions "helping" our son and others were not.

In our case, it was personal and individual. We were in the faces of the ones giving us the problems and most other parents left it to the institution to be the governing authority.

One time in Virginia the authorities collectively decided our son had a bowel obstruction because he was in distress. Without checking with us, they rushed him to the emergency room and prepared him for major surgery, which would have killed the frail kid. It was a collective decision, nobody to pin down. We rushed there and while my wife grabbed our son away, pulling out the tubes herself, I promised violent wrath on any who would resist us. The ER doc, self-appointed god, was hysterical, had staff call the police. We left before they arrived, took him home. A few hours later his simple migraine was passed and he was smiling. The authorities came to our house and found a happy kid.

We can recount time and again the sad stories of those who trusted the institution, and yes, even when so many of the nurses and help were wonderful. Too often that trust was fatally misplaced.

Point being you cannot defer to the institution. Go for the individuals.

As for the live music, live presence touches even the most gravely handicapped as we witnessed. TV noise and radios do not do that much, but live presence does. You can see it in their eyes.

Feeding the birds and squirrels is everything to her but there's a Grinch in Pinellas County again, right in her own homeowners association----she might even end up before the Pinellas County judicial tyrant George Greer if the Grinch has his/her way.

I found out about the restrictions on diagnosis of children, by reading the DSM IV. My concern is that the counselor of these children(that I'm mentioning) is merely a social security scam, on the part of the mother.

The mother told the counselor that the oldest one was bipolar. The girl's problem is that she didn't want to put up with her mom's crazy BS. Mommy is a meth addict. She convinced the counselor that the girl is bipolar, and put her on Social Security. After the claim went through, mommy spent the first check(it accures from the day you put in your claim), on a car for herself. The girl doesn't see or get to use that monthly check.

She told her daddy that she didn't know she was anymore, last year. Now the mother and her bf are working the 13 yr old. Disgusting.

The schools aren't much better than disfunctional parents.

There's a county ordinance against feeding wildlife, but that's only for wild animals ^{& disabled people,} not applicable to birds and squirrels.

For 12 years no one made a complaint but now, one cold-hearted person in the 107-unit subdivision has filed a complaint and Frances has received a letter from property manager Ronald Costa that says "We are informing you to cease and desist feeding the wildlife".

Well hell, at least I know where Joanne moved. She was my mom's neighbor. It sounds just like her :/
