Natalee Holloway's family is calling for the removal of three Aruban law enforcement officials who they say ignored promising leads and didn't take the case seriously early on.
The Mississippi native vanished while on a school trip to Aruba with her Mountain Brook (Ala.) High School graduating class and was last seen leaving a bar on May 30 with Dutch national Joran van der Sloot and Surinamese brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe. Holloway's family made the charges in a letter released Thursday.
Natalee's father, Dave Holloway of Meridian, said the family is not giving up on seeing the case solved, but believes the current investigators will not get it done. He said the family hopes to have a response from the prime minister in Aruba in the next few weeks.
The teen's mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, left the Dutch Caribbean island after she said prosecutors and the police chief refused to meet with her about the case.
The family says investigators might have mishandled evidence, including a bone found by a tourist on a beach in July, and that detectives still believe that the missing American is alive.
The three young men were arrested on June 9 but were released after a court ruled there was not enough evidence to hold them.
Greta ran a piece last night with several lawyer-types discussing the case. What the Aruban authorities are doing to Beth Twitty is disgusting...on her latest visit they grilled her about investments, made suggestions that Columbia or Venezuela had her daughter, were insulting beyond belief. They won't face the basic fact that they allowed three young men to get away with murder. In this case the coverup can't be worse than the crime, but it's really, really bad.
Hey, Dr. Phil, the world's greatest crimefighter/investigator, said on the Tonight show last night he has some good evidence that she was still alive, had been kidnapped, and sold to a sex slave ring.
I agree with you.
I know!
I saw that! He must know something we don't know. Or he is just grasping at straws.
How can one botch an investigation when going in they have no intention of finding the culprit?
And Aruba is mad because Americans have decided to cross their sunny island off the vacation list. They're crazy.
All we gotta do now is convince him to help O.J. find the real killers.

"As a lot of you know, Dr. Phil played an alleged tape of Deepak Kalpoe talking about Natalee Holloway on his show. The tape was recorded by Jamie Skeeters, a licensed polygrapher. They claim that the tape is pure, unedited and uncut.
Recently someone from Aruba said that they wanted that tape to further the case but the Dr. Phil show turned them down unless they come and make it a part of the show.
This is outrageous on so many levels that I don't have the space to cover it all.
Assuming that the tape is legitimate, it belongs in the hands of those investigating the case and NOT in the hands of a showman and self-proclaimed television star like Dr. Phil. To me, this comes under the heading of impeding a a criminal investigation and withholding evidence at the very least.
If the tape is NOT uncut, unedited or not the voice of Deepak Kalpoe than we have another whole can of worms and that's even more unlawful in my opinion.
Unfortunately, Beth Twitty threw her lot in with the Doctor and to me, she demeaned herself, Natalee and the entire case by doing so.
Now that Phil won't play ball with the investigators or at least turn the ORIGINAL tape over to the FBI for scrutiny, Beth has unwittingly become a part of hampering the investigation into her daughter's disappearance.
I wrote to Dr. Phil (the address is available if you Google it). Simply put Dr. Phil or the correct network into Google and it will bring up how to make contact with the show.
I encourage everyone to send an email to this man and insist that he do the right thing by turning that tape over to the proper authorities for analysis.
The more I hear of his tactics regarding this tape the less I believe in the veracity of the tape. Is the good Doctor so desperate for ratings that he would use something like this (a possible piece of evidence) to further those ratings?
I am fed up with the secrecy surrounding this case. The vagueness doesn't just exist within the prosecutor's office on Aruba. Beth is vague when questioned about her next steps and Dr. Phil is playing a ratings game.
Has Natalee Holloway become simply a Hollywood creation to be used to sell shows? When will we be seeing the movie of the week?
If Dr. Phil has evidence he needs to put up or shut up and Beth Twitty needs to either insist that he comply with the Aruban authorities or stop complaining that NO ONE is doing anything to find her daughter". ------------

sw
Dr. Phil is looking for ratings.
Good point.
Yep, they sure are.
Yeah really.
They still aint found this hoodrat?
Just kill the 3 murders and get it over with
Dr Phil is a media ho..pay no attention
They better take a lot of notice bout how these tours are run
One of my suppliers invites their customers to an annual "workshop" often set in exotic locations. It's basically a working vacation. I was shocked to see the next one scheduled for Aruba and asked how in the world they made that selection. Apparently, they book these trips, and the hundreds of necessary rooms, several years in advance; however, they did state they would never choose Aruba again.
I wonder just how much Aruba's tourism has fallen off since Natalee Holloway's disappearance?
