M'boy, I believed that back when Lewinskys were being performed; I believed it when I saw the results of the War on Poverty in Nawlins after Katrina. Rien. Nada.
Dare we hope again?
I never thought the Lewinskys would be the end of liberalism, or anything even close to it. I did think they'd be the end of Clinton, and they were, or close to it. Clinton became a laughing stock after Lewinsky, the Right absolutely went to town. He became "the gift that keeps on giving" for us, and still is. He's the president of the moonbats; he keeps them organized and motivated, and he helps the donkey party suck up their money like a vacuum cleaner.
As far as NO and Katrina, the story on that isn't anything like over, and I think it's going to play out in a way that brings no joy to the left. Just because the MSM hasn't focussed on the debacle unleashed when reality (in the form of a hurricane) crashes into wall-to-wall democrat government, don't think that everyday America didn't notice. And it doesn't hurt that we have Conservative Talk Radio to hammer the point home, again and again.
Liberalism will not be popped like a balloon. It will take many years to neuter it (and there's a good chance that it will morph into something else along the way). It wasn't built overnight, and it won't be destroyed overnight either.
But it is doomed, because it is an ideology that defies reality at a fundamental level. The left is at war with reality, because they can't deal with it and it offends them. They believe that we are each our own god, and that reality should bend itself to their wishes because they are so darn smart.
