I find it somewhat humerous, in a sick way, that Gyllenhall wasted no time in grabbing a military movie where he could play a macho Marine.....

..and Ledger wasted no time getting some girlfriend pregnant to show how manly man he is.

I wouldn't look for any CYA (heh) from Gyllenhall. He's the guy who said the only bad part about making the movie is that Ledger slammed him against the wall a little too hard in the big sex scene (shudder). He said he thinks all guys have a gay side. I think he ought to just speak for himself there.

I don't know what would possess someone to want to play such a character...but I suppose they think it's all artistic and "challenging". But if it gives them the heebiejeebies then they are lying to themselves about their true feelings.
