Michael Schiavo thinking of his own political future when he endorsed Tim Kaine(D)? (that Schiavo)
National Journal ^ | Nov. 3, 2005 | National Journal

Posted on 11/06/2005 6:14:01 PM PST by Former Military Chick

Why did Michael Schiavo, a Floridian with Pennsylvania roots, endorse Democrat Tim Kaine's run for Virginia governor?

Your guess is as good as Kaine's, whose campaign first learned the news on Wednesday after Schiavo's PR firm gave the mini-scoop to the Washington Post. The maneuver was meant to motivate base Democrats in Virginia six days before the Nov. 8 vote. Schiavo's statement said lots of mean things about Jeb Bush and Florida, and only a few nice things about Kaine and Virginia.

This makes us wonder: Is Schiavo focused on Virginia's well being, or his own political future? Doesn't Florida hold its own gubernatorial contest next year? Schiavo's spokesman told us that the widower has no plans to run for office "at this point.... He's just saying that the debate between Kaine and Jerry Kilgore is exactly the kind of thing he's talking about."

Speculation aside, Schiavo re-emerges at a critical juncture in the 2005 political arch. Terri Schiavo's tragic case, and the GOP's reaction to it, helped launch a downward spiral last spring that continues today. That spiral, it seems, could help Kaine next week, far more than any endorsement ever could.

Tim Kaine is pro life. Schiavo is anti life. His "endorsement" of Kaine is laughable.

I didn't hear about Scott's threats before. Could you tell us more about it?

I forget who posted it, but the photo of her grave marker was posted, several months ago. Despicable. My oldest child and I sat and chose a beautiful pink marble marker for my mom, with a loving bible quote. I can't remember what it was : (

MS is mocking God with that epitaph. I think he suffers from hubris, not an attack of conscience.

Well, if he runs for political office, he'll be an excellent representation of the Dem's "principles".

Sounds like he's missing the limelight, and that we may be seeing the development of another "cause" oriented Cindy Sheehan type with a "Bush is bad" message, and Jeb Bush as the main target. Some of the nutcases on the left want Cindy for President!

New kitty showed up here on 10-21-05, which is the date that Terri was rescued in 2003.

Shame on those who didn't rescue Terri in 2005. (Homeland Security was going in and they cancelled).

You mean this van with the motorcade of cops? Not even a proper hearse? HINO made the arrangements for internment TWELVE WEEKS before Terri died. He knew 3 months in advance that this country would help him finish the job.

America should not be killing its people. www.terrisfight.org

How ironic that republican judges and state legislatures helped Michael kill Terri and now he joins the dems. The GOP got nothing for helping this scumbag, well nothing that's been made public.

Look at how huge the schiavo name is on the grave marker. Theresa Marie is a bit smaller in comparison. If he runs in Pinellas County, I can't imagine who would vote for him except the judges and the probate attorneys who helped him kill Terri, those who make money here in the robbing and killing of wards business.

I think it is probably more about looking for a way to make money off of his notoriety, whether in politics or something else. There will be those willing to help him promote himself for a cut of the cash, and he is more likely to have followers from the left than from the right.

The left is a good place for Michael Schiavo. He stiffed a lot of republicans who helped him get his wish.

I guess he's just not satisfied to a nurse at the Pinellas County Jail. There is an ongoing investigation of his nursing license and his resume at this time by the state.

Taxpayers paid for his leave time while he was watching Terri being tortured to death and he was also controlling when her blood relatives could visit. I want my tax dollars back.

Reading through the thread, and saw your post mentioning Sheehan. They do have something in common - fame from the death of a family member.

That epitaph is beyond abominable

I wonder if his mistress helped him choose it?

Maybe "conscience" wasn't exactly the right word.

That stone -proves- me to that he knows exactly what he did and that he is well aware of what the public believes of him.

The hypocritical "I kept my promise" is a transparent public hand-washing/propaganda worthy of Pontius Pilate.

It's a bald-faced attempt to convince himself [and anyone who wanders by] of his "principles".

Schiavo's PR firm...

LOL. Schiavo for President? He could follow in the tradition of Bubba Clinton, another woman-hating lounge lizard...

If I were her, I'd sleep with one eye open [or not at all] and remain utterly, completely healthy at all times.

It amazes me that she stays with him.
Either she's an idiot or an accomplice.

When you marry a man who kills his wife, that's exactly what you have.

I guess he just had to score that last point against the Schindlers.

After all, she was merely their flesh and blood.

In the face of adversity, hubby always says "no matter what happens, they can't take my name away from me."

Obviously, he's never been the wife of an abusive husband....;))

Why does that graphic you posted in #46 mention a *black* robed judge? I have never seen a judge wearing any other color. I believe black is traditional in this country. I am not sure how mentioning the color of the judge's robe does anything for your cause.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this one.

The event occurred on March 21, 2005 Edition of the Dom Giordano Show on 1210AM WHPT, which is Philadelphia's blowtorch station.

It's no longer in Dom's archives, but I dug up the Live thread for the Dom G Show for that day, which contains the info...

SCOTT AND STEVE SCHIAVO TO BE ON DOM GIODANO 1210 AM PHILADELPHIA!!!

That's the only link that I still have. Dom G doesn't have it on his page anymore. You might be able to find a discussion of it in the Hannity Broadcast from Philadelphia Transcript from around that time (3/21/05), although truth be known I do not listen to Hannity all that much. It came up on there, too.

Lastly, there is Glenn Beck's website, which I will search next. I don't like only having one source left.
