Terrorism: al-Qaeda Threatens Christmas Attack In Italy
AKI ^ | November 7 2005

A new message threatening Italy with attacks involving surface-to-air missiles or poisonous substances has appeared on Islamic internet forums linked to the al-Qaeda terror network. The threat is made under the name of Sayf al-Adel, one of al-Qaeda's main leaders, who disappeared after the US invasion of Afghanistan and who, experts believe, is currently in hiding or in prison in Iran.

Both the title and the content of the message make reference to a news story reported a couple of weeks ago, about rumours that Osama bin Laden had been killed in the earthquake which struck Pakistani Kashmir last month.

The title of the message talks of "good news which, God willing, will arrive soon from the land of the Romans". This comes "from your brother Sayf al-Adel to all those who have said that Sheikh Osama bin Laden died in the Pakistan earthquake, was arrested or fell ill," the statement says.

The militant then states that "these reports are only the fruit of a media war. Sheikh Osama bin Laden is well and in a safe place, and we will soon see him during the Christmas holidays in the land of the Romans, after the next attack in Europe, which will primarily regard Italy."

I have been worried about an attack in Italy. I said some time ago that Zarqawi was going to strike there and try to pass it off as the origional al-Qaeda network did it, to try to turn Italy into another Spain. Z-man is well aware that the second the world sees him as a threat their stance on the Iraq War will change so his goal has been to be a threat to the world without the world figuring that out.

If I recall correctly, Italy already gave its Muslims the boot. It's going to be difficult to mount an attack in Italy without any brothers there to do the dirty work.

hah, gave them the boot? i was there not too long ago

and there seemed to be more north africans than italians.

not very nice of the jihadists to mention the land of the

romans, kinda would make the present day inhabitants slink

away in shame, but then, the eu has no shame. i know,

italy is helping us more than most in iraq, so i toned it

down just a bit.

Too bad the United States did not threaten to Nuke Mecca in Saudi Arabia when they attacked the Twin-Towers. Things around the world would be quite different. One thing about Muslims, they are very brave attacking unarmed people, but when they raise response from armed men they whine like babies and scatter.
