I wish the media had to take an ethics class on how to be respectful of the office of the President of the United States. How to ask non-partisan questions? How to not be stuckon stupid? They'd all fail miserably...

"...hourlong briefings for an estimated 3,000 staffers ..."

Speaking of "stuck on stupid", I say it's time to have General Russel Honore replace Scott McClellan as press spokesman for the President.

;-)

The White House is probably the most difficult job posting in the world. You would think it obvious that anyone selected for a job there would already be of such character and integrity that their ethics would be a given before they ever showed up for work.

The moron who thought this up should be fired. The White House Communications Office which thinks this will make points with the public should be cleaned out - especially given the bunker mentality of recent months that has resulted in plummeting ratings.

One could, even should, have expected something like this with the Clinton White House, where half the people never got security checks.

Maybe we should pass a law that anyone who worked a political campaign cannot get a patronage job in the White House or Congress. Then they can go out and hire real people of character and industry rather than political flacks.

I actually think it's about something else.

I think it's about NOT GIVING OUT INFO TO THE MEDIA ANYMORE. If the media thought this was a closed WH before .. I suspect it will be even more so.
