The statement was false, I pointed that out.

I like capitalism, free trade and freedom. And accuracy.

“Walmart is a world wide organization and must remain conscious of this. The majority of the world still has different practices other than ‘christmas’ which is an ancient tradition that has its roots in Siberian shamanism. The colors associated with ‘christmas’ red and white are actually a representation of of the aminita mascera mushroom. Santa is also borrowed from the Caucuses, mistletoe from the Celts, yule log from the Goths, the time from the Visigoth and the tree from the worship of Baal. It is a wide wide world.”

I heard the same whole baloney from a guy I used to work with. He was a radical pagan/vegan, openly hostile to anything Christian, more than anyone else I've ever known.

Plus, he lived in Salem MA, so go figure.

A "Holiday tree" outside the Capital does inded bother me. What next, "Holiday Tree Lots" and songs such as "O Christmas Tree" being converted to "O Holiday Tree"!?

Heck, why not just call it an "Islamic Tree" and call it a day.

I don't believe such an e-mail came from WalMart. Besides, I'm seeing the word "Christmas" all over my local WalMart store already. This is just the most recent urban myth.

I am utterly shocked that Wal*Mart only lists 3 items for Festivus.

Their sales are UP 12.6% year to date. Tell me again how the Target boycott worked?

>>>Christmas is the reason for the season.

How ignorant. Get your own country. Christmas is NOT the reason for the season. Walmart is NOT discriminating against Christmas. They are not excluding Christmas. They are INCLUDING other religions which is perfectly valid and reasonable.

"How ignorant. Get your own country."

I sense someone needs to calm down a bit.

>>>I would vote this is more of people obsessing for things to be offended at..>>>

I second that.

Oddly enough, these same people would laugh and mock those that are offended by what THEY say and do against their religion.

WalMart didn't ban Christmas. It's back by the lawn and garden area, been there since early October.

Little marketing secret, boycotts are more often than not, good for business.. there is no such thing as bad publicity.. remember the 'Ellen' coming out show boycott.. it drove so much attention to the show that ratings tripled...

Wal-Mart has been caving to political correctness lately. How about that call for a raise in the minimum wage? Why can't they simply pay their employees more without demanding that government force it on everyone? And that's just two of several things. If Wal-Mart caves to the left, then they can lie by the left. The truth is, the left wants to either control or destroy Wal-Mart. As long as the company seeks neither, they have my support. But if they give up partial control (as it appears they are beginning to do) in an effort to appease the left, then my loyalty is gone.

"Didn't Walmart stop selling guns too, or something like that??"

Every Walmart I have been in in Texas has a nice selection of reasonably priced armament. And ammo. Including hollow point 22LR.

I asked the sales girl: Are the hollow points used for blowing up squirrels? She laughed and replied "No.. they are used for coyotes."

Then why do the Hanukkah and Kwanzaa pages go directly to their pages without having to click through the holiday page, first? It's like saying, "Hmm..we KNOW you couldn't have been really wanting to search for CHRISTMAS..so here, try this holiday page first..then if that REALLY isn't what you're looking for, we'll see if we can find more."

>>>They refuse to acknowledge Christmas for fear of offending
>>>Are you high???

No, they are jumping the gun and finding reasons to whine.

For some reason, some people think that if you do not pretend no other religion exists in this world, then you are REFUSING TO ACKNOLEDGE CHRISTMAS. Shows intellegence and I think I'll just leave it alone.
