Wal-mart is the largest retailer in the world and they have to cater to more than the Christians during the month of December.

I agree. I won't boycott Wal-Mart over this.

Wal-Mart spent $18 billion on goods from Chinese suppliers in 2004. They spent $150 billion on goods from US suppliers. The poster hasn't a clue about what it speaks.

Thanks for the stats.

I shop in Wal-Mart every week and can't remember the last time I bought ANYTHING made in China.

Bill O'Reily just came on and said they checked out most of the major
Retail stores and the ones to watch out for were K-Mart, Sears, and Kohl's!
K-Mart is now owned by Sears.
JC Penney's told Bill that they have always had a Christmas Catalog and always would.

I got disgusted last year and refused to shop at Target and Mervyn's because they refused to allow the Salvation Army "Bell Ringers" in front of their stores, so I shoped for everything at Wally-World, because they had the "Bell Ringers" out in front of the store.
Target and Mervyn's were owned by the same Company, but it seems like, I heard later on that Mervyn's split off from Target. We'll have to check it out.

Revelation 2:14-16 Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: You have people there who hold to the teaching of Balaam [a false prophet], who taught Balak to entice the Israelites to sin by eating food sacrificed to idols and by committing sexual immorality. 15Likewise you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans.

Funny coincidence, too, that Santa is a jumble of the same letters in "Satan".

Thank you for that observation

Deception is not always an easy subject to address. Biblical examples of those deeply deceived show us people who were controlled by Satan and, many times operated under a murderous spirit.

Deceived Cain, who wanted to practice religion his own way ending up killing his brother Abel who did worship God the prescribed way!

The religious leaders of Jesus' day were deceived and so delivered their promised Messiah to the death of a cruel cross.

The Apostle Paul, once deceived religious Pharisee, persecuted the early church before his conversion. He thought he was doing God a favor by capturing Christians for imprisonment and death.

In (1 Kings 18:17-18), King Ahab, a wicked king of Israel who compromised with Baal, accused Elijah, God's only holy prophet, of troubling all of Israel which King Ahab himself was guilty of!

These Biblical examples of deception are a turning of the tables. The deceived believe their lies, yet persecute those of the Truth!

What is Apostasy anyway?

Baal is introduced into Two Churches by 90AD, Pergamos and Thyatira

Baal is introduced into Christianity again in 325AD Roman Church begins

Baal in introduced into Christianity again in 1962AD. The Ecumenical Movement Begins.

Hey there, Mrs. N.!!!!!

Not that s**t again.

LOL!!!!!!!

I didn't bother pinging anyone because I didn't think this would be going anywhere - boy was I wrong.

I volunteer down at the Moose Lodge on Wednesdays and that is why I'm so late getting back to you.

This is so utterly ridiculous that it is getting to the point where it isn't funny anymore.

First of all, I think the Catholic League is going overboard (of course I've never had much use for them, but that's a personal thing) and secondly FReepers seem to be totally FREAKING out over this.

Better than 90% of people I know, regardless of their faith, would think to put the word "Christmas" into a search on the website of a retailer when thinking about this paticular time of the year.

I have no problem with WalMart's webmaster directing that word to the "holiday" section of the website, in fact it makes perfect sense.

This entire conversation reminds me that I have to run up there in the next few days to make a lay-a-way payment :)

This fooferoo has the libs rubbing their hands and licking their lips with anti-corporatist joy. Listen, I have worked in the online retail industry and I can tell you that putting a shopper in the "Holiday" category from that search has nothing to do with discrimination (sheesh) and everything to do with directing the shopper to items that may not have "Christmas" in the title and may be nice things to buy for Hannukah and other holidays as well as Christmas.

I wish I had read this before I replied to someone else. You're so right :)

Go to its website and search for Hanukkah and up come 200 items. Click on Kwanzaa and up come 77. Click on Christmas, and here’s what you get: ‘We’ve brought you to our ‘Holiday’ page based on your search.’ In other words, Wal-Mart is practicing discrimination.”

I'm glad I don't go to Wal-Mart at all.

I'd look for the union label on this email. Does not sound right.

"...gee, I avoid Walmart simply because everything they sell is made in China"

Where do you shop that has American made products, I don't know of any.

The majority of the world still has different practices other than ‘christmas’ which is an ancient tradition that has its roots in Siberian shamanism. The colors associated with ‘christmas’ red and white are actually a representation of of the aminita mascera mushroom. Santa is also borrowed from the Caucuses, mistletoe from the Celts, yule log from the Goths, the time from the Visigoth and the tree from the worship of Baal. It is a wide wide world.”

No way was this a genuine Wal-mart customer service e-mail. No freaking way.

The query string "Christmas" was associated with the category "Holiday" because most Christmas items live in Holiday and most Holiday items are related to Christmas. It doesn't make sense for them to associate Kwanzaa with Holiday, since most results in Holday are not related to Kwanzaa. Kwanzaa has not been associated in the site administration (from what I gather this is a manual association) because redirecting Kwanzaa to Holiday is foolish: you will get LESS useful results. By associating Christmas with the category Holiday, you get all Holiday items that might not have Christmas in the name or description.

OMGoodness.......sanity in the face of idiocy - you are not permitted to do such on a WalMart bashing thread. (/sarc)

Excellent point.

The JC Penney website has a Holiday catalog. NO Christmas one.

"Yuck, #6 on the Toys of Christmas list is "BRATZ Big Babyz". Toys that promote sleaze."

It's only a matter of time before they introduce the "BRATZ Condom and Abortion Clinic" play set. They are sleaze promoting dolls for sure.

As for Wal Mart- I know of a Low Income family with a very sick little girl, who desperately needed an air conditioner, because the little girl requires a cool room in order to maintain her body temperature. Wal Mart gave them a brand new air conditioner for free.

For those of you wondering about the verses in Jeremiah pertaining to cutting down a tree and covering it in silver and gold, here are some other translations of those verses:

Contemporary English Version(CEV):Jer 10:2 Don't follow the customs of those nations who become frightened when they see something strange happen in the sky.
Jer 10:3 Their religion is worthless! They chop down a tree, carve the wood into an idol,
Jer 10:4 cover it with silver and gold, and then nail it down so it won't fall over.
Jer 10:5 An idol is no better than a scarecrow. It can't speak, and it has to be carried, because it can't walk. Why worship an idol that can't help or harm you?

Darby: Jer 10:2 Thus saith Jehovah: Learn not the way of the nations, and be not dismayed at the signs of the heavens; for the nations are dismayed at them.
Jer 10:3 For the statutes of the peoples are vanity; for it is a tree cut out of the forest, worked with a chisel by the hands of the artizan;
Jer 10:4 they deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Jer 10:5 They are as a palm-column of turned work, and they speak not; they are carried, for they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

You are so right. Bratz are vulgar little dolls. Sure hope this Wal-Mart story isn't true. Leftists sure would like to unionize the evil Wal-Mart, so we shouldn't help them in their attacks. Wal-Mart helped to bring Christian publishers to a wider market, they have a gun department, and they're responsible about not selling offensive CD's and games. They're one of the few major retailers who go out of their way to sell items made in the U.S.A.
God bless Wal-Mart!

Good grief...who else is Walmart "catering to"? Are there hundreds of Super Walmarts in the middle east? I know for a fact that there are some in Mexico, and a couple in Germany.

Mexicans celebrate Christmas bigtime. And so do most Germans. And here in the USA, it's the big holiday for most of the citizens. So why would a large chain such as Walmart have to cater to a handful of customers rather than the majority? My point: if someone is not Christian and abhors the display of Christmas decos etc, don't shop at Walmart! Period. Change the damn channel if you object to strong language. I'm sick to death of these crybabies.

More liberalism run amuck.

90% of what Wal-mart sells is made in the US. You have some real Union propaganda going on, even today. Did not the Unions control several of the more press oriented elections this past Tuesday?
