As I pointed out, it wasn't just the NJ and VA Governor's races. The ballot initiatives in Washington State and California were important too, and those went poorly. If you don't think that had anything to do with the mood of the country, I think you are being naive, especially considering NJ and VA.
So, let me get this right.
GOP ballot initiatives in heavily-liberal states were defeated, and because of this, we're supposed to be in a panic.
Right.
And several liberal-backed initiatives designed to make vote fraud easier were trounced in Ohio, a veritable battleground state. Again, hardly a bloodbath.
Soros lost bigtime in Ohio. And Silvers legislature power grab in NY went down in flames. There WERE no big losses for Repubs.
Turn off your TV and quit reading the paper. You're too easily influenced by the spin.
3/4 of the states you mention are far lefty strongholds. In VA it sounds like this Kilgore guy ran a lame campaign while his rat opponent ran a fake-right campaign. I don't know how you can extrapolate these results to the rest of the nation. I do know that if Jeb Bush were running for any office tomorrow in the state of Fla. he would win easily.
The California debacle really wasn't one. 60% of the vote went to Kerry in 2004. The majority of California voters still think that communism is a viable political system. In these odd off year elections, only those with a vested interest turn out - in this case the scummy teacher's unions. The status quo was retained in California. The RATs have had the majority in the legislature for 50 years. The last conservative governor was Reagan. Since then, only RINOS and outright commies have won elections in the majority of counties. The urban and immediate suburban counties around Los Angeles and San FranSicko have large commie majority voting blocs. They call the tune in California politics.
VA may have lost the Governorship, but we won the Lt. Govenor and Attorney General. It is a shame that the Ca initiatives did not go, but Ohio went well.
And the ballot initiatives in Ohio, put there by Moveon.org?????????? Care to discuss that mood?
"The ballot initiatives in Washington State and California were important too, and those went poorly..."
The ballot initiatives in California were a waste of time from the get-go. Arnold blew it, not the GOP. As for Washington State, I do not consider what goes down there any kind of a bellweather - until there is another election for Gov.
There were very significant ballot issues - in Ohio. There were 4 constitutional changes that were initiated and backed by big Dem money from outside the state. These were intended to really screw up control of elections, districting etc. The Dems lost big - by a 2 to 1 margin on each of these issues. This in Ohio was likely the most important ballot issue before the voters anywhere in the country. The State of Ohio won. The Dems lost.
Thwacked?...see the Ohio (soros) referendum results on 2,3,4 and 5?
