I guess they're determined to lose in 2006. Being spineless and populist is what makes a republican lose all the time.

A lot of Republicans just stay home on election day. If there's no real Republican to vote for, why bother? There could be a good movie on TV.

As far as I am concerned, as it currently stands, the Rep. party is the lesser of the two evils. As outraged and concerned as I am, I will not be one of those people that sits out the presidential election. Because pubbies did that years ago, we got Clinton in office.

I need to listen to Rush tomorrow; his optimism is direly needed in this household.

Thanks. Looks like you are exactly right. This is in the latest update. Let's hope this issue finally gets resolved.

"The moderates knew they had leverage, given the narrow margin of GOP control of the House. It only takes 14 Republican defections to scuttle a bill, assuming every Democrat opposes it.

Still, removing the Arctic oil drilling provision could incite a backlash from lawmakers who strongly favor it, which is a big majority of Republicans. House and Senate GOP leaders are likely to push hard to get the ANWR proposal back into the bill in negotiations on a final document.

Marnie Funk, a spokeswoman for Sen. Pete Domenici, R-N.M., said that Domenici considers the ANWR provision, which the Senate approved, “one of the most critical components” in the budget package. “He is committed to coming back to the Senate from the conference with ANWR intact,” she said."

I probably know and like most of the mods, I just get frustrated when stories like this are posted in breaking and then they get slipped to either plain news or no topic at all!

May I suggest that all who are upset about the 25 Repugs call their State Republican Party HQ and complain to them, their Republican Representatives and Republican Senators, if your state has them and tell them what you think about this.....Call the RNC HQ in Washington DC and tell them your mad as hell too! That's what I'm going to do!!!!!

We have two parties that are hell bent on destroying everything that our founding fathers gave to us.

More than likely we have one Dem/GOP farce owned and operated by self appointed ruling class profiteers who intend to profit immensely from the hostile takeover and destruction of America.

No need to vote in anyone if they all go the same liberal way.

"Time to make being a professional politician a capital crime."

First you have to get a nominee on the ballot. It should be illegal ,or the same as the laws on jury duty, for someone to turn down a nomination. Elect them and drag them kicking and screaming into office. My grandfather was nominated for constable and didn't know it until he went to vote. My grandmother excepted on his behalf. He remained constable until his death.
